Hello everyone! I am 31, trying to lose about 140 or so pounds, and I happen to enjoy gardening. We are in zone 7/8. I just love to watch things grow, and I love to try new and unusual plants to my area to see how they fare. I live in a neighborhood where everybody has the nursery to come and completely change out their flowerbeds every few months. All of my neighbors yards are stunning, but mine is homemade. I love my yard. When I moved here last November, my yard was an eyesore. It has some good bones, and I have invested little by little to make it my personal oasis. It is probably the most unusual yard and not groomed to perfection like everybody else, but it is coming along. My method is simply to plant things that interest me. No cookie-cutter planting here.
We have also built raised flower boxes, and are trying our hand at growing veggies. It's fun to watch the broccoli, carrots, and garlic sprout and grow each week. I figure that we waited too late in the year to start growing our veggies, but It's fun to try, and we are learning as we grow.
I hope to meet new folks and learn a bit and celebrate each others endeavors on the team.

Robin
