Hi Joanna, Square foot gardening is where you divide your garden into 1 foot squares. Then you plant 1,2,4,9 or 16 things in the square. For example,in one square you could plant 1 squash, or 16 carrots, or 4 strawberry plants. There's alot of information at www.squarefootgardening.com I find it very interesting. Michelle

Hi everyone, Thanks for the warm welcome. Momingarden,I don't know about the flowers along the freeway in Northern Ca as I am in Southern Ca and we don't have flowers along our freeways. Too much smog! I'm not really into flowers as much as veggies, however, I did plant sunflowers and one is starting to bloom. So I'm excited about that. My veggies are off to a slow start, the weather here has been dreary and overcast as I'm on the coast. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone Michelle
Hi everyone. I'm so glad to have found this group. This is only my second year with a vegetable garden, but I love it. I am using the square foot gardening method and keeping my fingers crossed for a good harvest. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone Michelle
