Thanks for the welcomes! I am in zone 4. I moved a few years ago from zone 3B, though, so this feels wonderful to me. Today we have a high of 59, with last night's low hovering around freezing, but Thursday's predicted high is 80 degrees! That's life in the Great Plains. It's crazy but I'm so thankful for a break from the snow and cold!

I'll check out your blog and enjoy seeing growing things. Thanks again for the warm welcomes!

I'm also located in Southern MN. I am a granny of 3, mother of 3 grown children who moved out. I want to try starting some plants indoors, but they seem to germinae, then get skinny an die. So if someone can help with that, I'd appeciate it. Some of the plants I want to grow are not available in the stores, even if I did prefer to purchase them. Do you have any ideas for me?

Hi,

I'm Kay, mom to 7 great kids (1 is married and has 1 child) and wife to one wonderful man. I have quite a bit of weight to lose, but I'm excited to see progress being made.

We homeschool our children and they all love to garden. We are currently living in a small town, but still have room for gardening. We planted lots of old garden roses along the side and in front of our house. These roses were offshoots from roses we planted at our previous home. Soon it will be time to fertilize and prune them.

This year we are putting in raised beds in our backyard for our vegetables (instead of growing in the dirt as we did last year). We also have 3 apple trees that we're hoping will have apples this year.

It is still early to plant here, but our chives are growing already. I made some chive potato rolls with them this weekend.

I can't wait until garden season is here full-time. I look forward to seeing what is growing in all of your gardens.
