Welcome and good luck on your new journey both with Spark and your Garden!
The library is a wonderful starting place(I love the library) remember you can double crop your gardens if you are working with a limited space. I do each year in my smaller garden. Cooler weather plants go in first cabbage, beets, turnips, lettuce onions, cauliflower, and then when they are done I follow with green beans. I also plant the green beans in the larger one by Mothers day. But the smaller one produces every bit as much in less time! Enjoy you will love the end results!
And Have a Blessed Easter! emoticon emoticon

Check your library. There are a few good learning books. One is "The idiots guide to gardening" and talks all about veggie gardens. Good luck! It is so gratifying come harvest time!

Do the day and let the day do you.

Great Story, Joan. One year, the coons had a party in our corn field. We woke up to corn cobs everywhere. Our son said we waited too long to pick them and the coons thought they were planted for them.

Have a Bloomin Good Day, Team.

Welcome. Just a short note to say if and when you plant corn, don't do what I did in my first garden.
My garden was right next to the road or I should say street. Nobody told me how to plant anything. I was going with what I thought was "how mother did it". When you plant the corn you drop a seed every so many inches apart from each other. "NOT" like you would plant carrot seeds or pea seeds. Needless to say everybody in town was laughing about how thick my corn was. It was so long ago that I don't even remember if I got any corn. Sweet corn that is. Oh well you live and learn. In those days you went by "this is how mother did it". Not that you can't do that now, it is just now we have the whole world to ask and get help.
Just a memories from time past.
Have a wonderful garden and time spent in it.
Joan

emoticon Ronelle to the Team. We love having new members and are certainly glad you are here.

There is a Gardening for Dummies Book and I found a couple on Amazon - Used books for $2 and $3.00. If you have time, check it out.

Again, nice to meet you and you are going to love gardening! Come next winter, you will be like the rest of us - counting down the days until you are able to get out in the garden again.

Hugs, Sunny emoticon

Hi, there! My name is Ronelle, and I currently am starting an herb garden (in my kitchen), and also planting some veggies in my father's yard, since he has more space than I do at my apt.

Even though the price of gas has gone down quite a bit, it doesn't seem to be reflected in the prices of produce at the grocery stores. Rather than continue to get frustrated, I've decided that now is as good a time as any to try to start planting a few veggies.

Is there a Home Gardening for Dummies book available? LOL. I've got a lot to learn, but fortunately, I'm surrounded with people who are blessed with green thumbs, so I hope that I can pick up the necessary skills to see some results after putting in a lot of hard work. emoticon
