I just remembered when we lived in town I actually took the advice of an older lady in the neighborhood and spread some of my sons hair trimmings in the mulch along the flowers the bunnies were getting into. IT KEPS THEM OUT?!!! GO FIGURE..... Next time you do some trimming on the kids hair give it a try.

I decided to re-do the garden edging. However, I did see a posting somewhere in this maze of forums and message boards which mentioned using a garlic spray. Essentially boiling garlic, straining it and let cool and combine with a organic pesticide and put in a spray bottle. It was said that rabbits and deer don't like garlic. Of course, with my luck my end of the condo will smell like italian salad dressing and the rabbits will start to ask for croutons with my hostas. Has anyone tried this?

Rabbits have an extremely hard time getting into container gardens. (HINT)
How is that rabbit issue going? Can't wait to hear about what you end up growing this spring.

Blood meal is supposed to repel rabbits and deer and also heard dog poo does too...haven't tried either. But we plan to put up iron stakes around our small fruit trees this fall to keep the rutting bucks away. We had to cut 3 trees way back this year and we are hoping they will come back out from the roots. Check with a local nursery or farm and ranch store...they may know something to use to repel them.

Hello from a fellow PA sparker!

I put chicken wire around my lettuce and they tend to leave everything else alone. Locals recommend sprinkling white flour around the beds to deter pests. Haven't tried that but just might this year.

I was going to suggest cactus..LOL..but decided to do a quick Google search instead. Here's a page that has quite a list of plants that rabbits usually don't care for, and quite a few of them are low maintenance, too!

Hi, I am from Pennsylvania. I do a little gardening around my condo. I gravitate towards plants that thrive without too much fuss. My latest quest is to find plants that the neighborhood rabbits will not make into a salad. Any suggestions?
