Oh man, this is a constant struggle for me too. I can especially relate to what you said about the anxiety not subsiding until you feel completely full -- this has caused me to overeat many a time. :-/ Also, the gaining and losing and regaining of the same 10 lbs. So frustrating! I think the suggestions offered re: relaxing music or going for a walk are helpful. I don't really have much to add other than I know exactly what you mean, and that you're not the only one out there who is going through this. Let's take it day by day. We have similar goals in terms of lbs we have to lose, so feel free to add me if you are in need of a SparkBuddy!
I too struggle with eating when anxious. I have found listening to relaxing music and practicing deep breathing to be very helpful in reducing the anxiety. You can find a lot of relaxation music on youtube. You also might try some distraction techniques. Do something else instead of eat...read your fave book or magazine, Call a friend that is supportive, if it's early in the day take a walk or do some type of physical activity. Some people find it helpful to clean. Are you on any medications? If not and the anxiety is getting worse it may be time to see a dr. if you already are not doing so.

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new on Sparkpeople. I've been on here about two and a half months, and I keep losing and regaining the same ten pounds. I've found I have no idea of how to cope with my anxiety that is not eating. It's so bad that when I don't feel entirely full I start to feel anxious. Anyone have any tips on how to deal with this?
