p.s one thing I use is called sleep and relax. It has valarian root and melatonin. It really helps me to sleep well when I need it.
I would reccomend working with a therapist if possible and slowly ween off any medications. Going off any drug cold turkey without medical supervision can be dangerous. It can affect other organs such as heart, liver, kidneys ect. Many people do not think of herbal substances as medications but, they are and can have side effects with other meds, this is why it is so important to work with your doctor. One of the most potent drugs that all of us have control over is our diet. Many people do not think of thier diet as a drug. But many drugs are chemical compounds of foods and substances found in nature. Anxiety in some ways can be viewed as a strength because most people who are anxious pay attention to detail, are prepared have great intuition and observation skills. Anxiety in it self is not bad it is how we use it. I have read that the herbal substance Gaba is very effective. Good luck on your Journey
Hi, Hannah. Have you tried St. John's Wort, Camomile Tea, Peppermint Tea, or Ginger Tea? They are natural supplements. Find a Natural Health store or Homeopathic supplier and ask about these. They are NOT habit forming!
I personally know the Peppermint and Ginger Teas help with sleep and digestion troubles as well as anxiety!!

Hello! I'm Hannah and I have anxiety and panic attacks. I want to bring awareness to this mental state of mind since so many people are dealing with it. I was on Prozac from July 2008 to November 2011, when I quit cold turkey (*which is apparently a bad idea). I am now (in February) starting to deal with the side effects of getting OFF of the Prozac, and I'm hoping to do so without having to get back on SSRI drugs. I don't want to be a "slave" to a pill... instead, I am hoping to control my anxiety using vitamins and natural remedies like aromatherapy and massage. I know I can do this, but if you've been in the same boat, and beat anxiety without SSRI's, please message me any tips or tricks that have worked for you. I have started an anxiety journal and counseling to help learn methods to calm myself down during a panic attack. I am a teacher, so I am always "on the go" and my anxiety doesn't usually catch up with me until I sit down at the end of the day :) Lovely, right?
