hey, I'm new to the team. Here's my dirty laundry to air: I haven't been diagnosed with anxiety, but I have thoughts about getting help because I feel it is leading to depression. I've been anxious since I was a child and often resort to rapid hand movements to deal with any strong emotion. My diet soda pop addiction does not help things. Thankfully, outwardly, I'm a poker face and rarely get excited. But, sometimes I don't listen well because I digest internally over others talking. Of course, these last two traits don't win me many friends, lol, and sadly, I'm ok with that. Like many of you have mentioned, I also get rapid heart movement episodes. Luckily, my husband is awesome and has dealt with emotional disorders himself. I am lucky to have a cat who is in love with me too lol.
Welcome! It's super great that you've joined us in our super understanding and caring group of friends and it's wonderful to meet you.

Celexa has helped me to keep my panic attacks at bay for many years, plus I had a few yrs of counseling. We help each other a lot here!
If it is to be, it is up to me.
Hello and welcome
Hi my name is Kathy and I have been diagnosed bipolar with a severe anxiety and panic disorder. I had a nervous breakdown five years ago and haven't bounced back like some feel I should have. I hope that you are enjoying sparks.
Spark it up!
Welcome to Sparkpeople. I should be in that other group. I am recovering from bulimia and compulsive over eating. I haven't purged in many years but still have problems with binging from time to time.

Welcome! I'm new to SparkPeople too and suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (with a side of Panic) as well.
I've been getting familiar with SP over the past several weeks and am just now getting around to figuring out this team thing.
I suffer from moderate anxiety and panic attacks (and suffer is the right word) but have been doing fairly well for the past six months on daily Celexa with a side of as-needed ativan. I've had generalized anxiety for at least 15 years and now have what I consider to be PTSD about the dentist's office (very bad experience resulted in a root canal).
I also struggle with disordered eating and have joined a SparkTeam for that -- anyone else here in both groups?
I'm very glad to be here.
Actual start date: July 4th
