Dealing with anxiety can be tough, especially when life throws drama at us. I too tend to eat when anxious. It's a coping mechanism. I have found deep breathing and relaxation techniques to be very helpful. You can find relaxation cd's at most bookstores. Also perhaps try journaling your feelings. That can free up alot of emotions and clear your mind.
