So After almost two years of this! Iv finally 99% beaten my anxiety problem! And weirdly enough I think it was caused by my IUD!! the IUD was making my periods INSANE! and in turn my emotions were out of wack and I was anemic from the blood loss.. within 1 month of getting it removed I started feeling better and now only get anxiety maybe once a month IF that!! who would of thought eh
I am glad you are here! Anxiety can cause several types of phsyical symptoms and one of them is chest pain/tightening of chest. One can experience the physical symptoms without actually "feeling" nervous or anxious. It happens to me at times.
As for your anxiety/mood/physical issues around your cycle....I would suggest talking with your dr about that. I myself, have more physical symptoms and anxiety issues around the time of my cycle and I think that is common. I think asking your dr. would help you have peace of mind though.
Keep us posted and know that you are not alone.

Hello. The worse part of anxiety is walking through it. I too use to be a hypochondriac - a therapist can help, you need to change your thinking. The way you think affects the way you feel. God made our minds in an amazing way and what we think will affect how you feel. I'm in no way over this but I do see myself getting better as does my therapist. You WILL overcome if you keep pushing forward.

Welcome Spunky..I have anxiety and it can hit with all kinds of symptoms. My anxiety also increases around my cycle. You might look into having your hormone levels checked. Hormones can really mess with anxiety and depression. When you feel the pains coming on try to take a deep breath and put your mind on something else, like reading spark posts. Usually if you can get your mind otherwise occupied it helps calm you down. Good luck and post often.
God Bless, Amy

Hi everyone I'm new to the Anxiety site and also new to anxiety! I was recently diagnosed with anxiety after a guy I know died of heart related issues at the age of 20. We weren't exactly friends but I think the shock of hearing a 20 year dying of a heart attack makes a person realize they aren't so invincible after all! Before this Happened I was a outgoing loud person who enjoyed living a bit on the wild side. A avid fan of both drugs and alcohol and lots of it! Its like I just couldn't get enough... it once that happened it hit me like a ton of bricks that, that COULD BE ME! I was leading a life that sure was going to bring me no where good. Besides never getting enough sleep or poisoning my body daily I am also 100lbs over weight.. A walking heart attack waiting to happen. and Since that night I haven't been the same. I started developing panic attacks, insomnia, and worrying about kicking the bucket at any minute. I didn't want to go to sleep.. just in case I didn't wake up. I became a chronic web md'R checking every little symptom and increasing my panic daily until finally I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the Hospital My blood pressure was 200/100 my chest was hurting my left arm was hurting.. so they hooked me up to the EKG Machine and my heart looked normal. So they did blood tests.. everything looked normal... so they said it was muscle spasms... which in my mind made no sense.. a few days later I developed a horrible pain under my left rib. So off to the doctors I went and she then told me that I'm having panic attacks and because of my stress I am giving myself horrible GERD so she put me on medication for that.. And well things have been good I get the occasional pain.. and when it does It brings my anxiety along with it.. I take medication for my anxiety cipralex and lorazapam if I'm feeling really yucky.. and so far its been doing alright except for about a week before my period... then disaster HITS!! for two weeks I'm a absolute mess! Chest pains, Heart burn, Muscle cramps aches pains I'm like a lifeless slug! Its horrible! and even after being diagnosed with Anxiety I still cant help but feel something isn't right! My chest pain.. how is it from anxiety even when I don't feel panicky? Can that really happen? The doctor says it can.. but being a chronic worrier I cant help but think she is WRONG! SO does any of you guys get chest pain without feel anxiety? or Am I the only one.. Im hoping with time.. and Weightloss and focusing on becoming a Healthier me will help rid myself of this dreaded anxiety....
