Give yourself some time!! It's not going to happen overnight, but you WILL come to appreciate some time to yourself. A few things to do:

Put food in the fridge. Come back three hours later and check - it will still be there!!

Clean the house. Go window shopping for three hours and look at a bunch of girlie clothes. Come back home later - LOOK!! It's still CLEAN!!!

Indulge in your favorite movies/TV shows that no self-respecting teenager wants to be around.

Call up a girlfriend, maybe someone who is also an empty-nester. Arrange a coffee date, a long walk date, etc.

Above all, keep busy, and if you catch yourself hanging around his room looking for him, get away!!

Been there, done that. Single mom to my now-20yo DS for pretty much all his life.

Doing my best...one day at a time.
