Hi! New to the team and new to empty nesting! I have twin 18 yo boys, one of whom just got "droppped off" at UC Berkeley and the other one is home with me for a few more days until he goes to Northeastern. We live in Maryland so the boys couldn't be further away from each other and they are both pretty far from us. Will be weird since we will become instant empty nesters without a transition.

All my empty nested friends say that the emotions I am having are normal and I can't imagine that they are not normal! It would be odd for me NOT to be a little weirded out by my kids leaving home but I am so happy for them and excited for their future.

Unfortunately, we won't have much empty nesting fun time as I have to have major back surgery just a few days after the last boy leaves home. My DH and I are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary in two days so we will have to have some fun then!

Glad to be on board.

- Judy
