I just signed my son and I up for the calgary marathon too. Can't wait. I'm likely to do a hypothermic one this winter also in Saskatchewan.

You can not change yesterday - it's done.
You can only dream of tomorrow.
The only day you can change is today.
What are you going to do today to reach your goals of tomorrow?

It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it GREAT

Is that the aniversary marathon? Good for you.
Just so long as you are aware that you are responsible for your travel and accomodations (if you choose to stay overnight in Calgary).

I ran the Edmonton Half... It was amazing to finish.

Team Diabetes - Be in contact with your coordinator. Keep them up to date. Ask for clarification. You need to ask questions.

Welcome to the team! I do most of my training on a treadmill due to my life schedule, family/work commitments, and living out in the boonies. I know it is not for everyone but works for me. Don't ever be ashamed of your speed. A 6 minute KM is just as far as a 20 minute KM. I am a huge proponent of John The Penguin Bingham of you don't have to go fast you just have to go!

Hi Sheila..I'm from Alberta & run outside all year & like you when it gets below -25* I find alternate ways of exercise.

Congrats on running your first half. Where did you run it? It doesn't matter how fast or slow you go, you did 21.1km & that's amazing. Like you I did a half in August & my running has slowed since. A trick I've been using to get out there alittle more is..remind myself that the white stuff is on it's way soon & I'll regret not taking advantage of the clear roads. It's worked so far.

I just signed up to run a marathon with Team Diabetes...how was your experience with them?

Hi, My name is Sheila Kolesar, I live in Manitoba Canada. I run outside all year round. When it hits -24 c I will not run, and will find an exercise video to do in the house. :)

I did my first half marathon in August, and I was super slow, and completed it in 3:33:16. However I did complete it. I ran it with Team Diabetes, and raised $1,246 for the cause.

Since my half marathon I have an average of once a week. That needs to stop! I need to increase my number of runs per week, my speed, and get my distance back.
