Is that the aniversary marathon? Good for you. Just so long as you are aware that you are responsible for your travel and accomodations (if you choose to stay overnight in Calgary). Welcome to the team! I do most of my training on a treadmill due to my life schedule, family/work commitments, and living out in the boonies. I know it is not for everyone but works for me. Don't ever be ashamed of your speed. A 6 minute KM is just as far as a 20 minute KM. I am a huge proponent of John The Penguin Bingham of you don't have to go fast you just have to go!

Hi Sheila..I'm from Alberta & run outside all year & like you when it gets below -25* I find alternate ways of exercise.
Congrats on running your first half. Where did you run it? It doesn't matter how fast or slow you go, you did 21.1km & that's amazing. Like you I did a half in August & my running has slowed since. A trick I've been using to get out there alittle more is..remind myself that the white stuff is on it's way soon & I'll regret not taking advantage of the clear roads. It's worked so far.
