My name is Steve and I've been a member here at SparkPeople for quite some time now. I've been running for a couple of years on and off and so far I've completed several 5k and 10k races. I wanted a new challenge so I've signed up for the Bupa Birmingham Great Run in October.
Just my luck as soon as I signed up for it I've been hit by a really bad chest cold. I've had it now for almost 3 weeks so that means I've done no cardio (other than walking) in that time. I know I've got plenty of time to train for the race so I figure I'm best to let myself get healthy before kicking into the training properly.
I hoping to compete in several other races this year as part of my training. I've already signed up for the British 10k, an amazing race running through the centre of London.
