I second CATMAGNET's endorsement of Smartwool socks. They are awesome. Your feet will thank you

I've started training for my first HM, which is St. Patrick's Day down here in Memphis, but have been running in the early mornings, so I've had my share of cold weather. All I know is that the one piece of gear that I'm glad I splurged on are my SmartWool socks! They're $15/pair at my local Fleet Feet (including tax), but so worth it, because they keep my feet warm without getting all sweaty and gross.
Best of luck with your training and keep on running!

Good morning everyone! I am new to the group and new to running overall. I never imagined I would love running as much as I do and am now logging 3 to 4 miles 5 to 6 days a week. My first half marathon is set for September 14th and I want to do a subsequent one on October 13th. I live in Kansas and so am trying to get used to the cold. I am excited to be a part of the group and excited to improve my run times. I just finished my first 5K on New Years Eve in 43:24.9 and 19th out of 29 in my age group.
