Lisa, I don't think I got one from you last week. I'll have to check. I never got a message saying I had mail, though, but I'll go back and check.

I won't register until the end of February. I want to see how my training goes, especially as I start upping my mileage.

IRONSLUGGO, no I haven't but I feel like I need to!! If I don't pre-register for races, I make a million excuses why I "can't" race that day. I know that if I do go ahead and register, I'll HAVE to do it then. ;)

I ran my first half marathon, old lady that I am, after training for 6 months. There was a 30 something couple who ran the same race with me after training for two weeks. LOL! You'll do great! (Oh, to be young again!) :)

CRISSYCURRY, I am you, and I'm going to try for my first half marathon in May. I was worried, too, until a few people even less prepared than we are responded to tell me they'd made it through their first half. We can do this!

Sounds like a perfect plan. Best of all, you have a little leeway built into your schedule with the extra weeks so if a particular long run is a struggle, think about repeating that week rather than upping it the next week. Listen to your body and you'll do great.

First some background: I am a new runner. I started running in April or May of last year and completed the C25K program. I have run a couple of 5k's and can run 4 miles easily. There is a HM I'm very interested in running in April, 17 weeks from now. I plan to use Hal Higdon's novice training program, which is a 12 week plan (gives me a little bit of cushion).

Anyway, do you think it's too soon for me to consider doing a HM? I don't have any time goals in mind. All I want to do is finish it by running most of it.
