I'm a 57 year old woman that has a total of 83 lbs to lose to reach a decent weight where I can possibly get off of blood pressure pills and also not hurt so much from RA of the spine. I've been told by my doctor that the less extra weight I'm carrying the less stress there will be on my joints. I don't expect to lose it fast. It took me 8 years to put on all the weight. My goal is to drop 2 lbs every month and keep it off til I reach my 92 lb goal.
I am married to Bob and he's just had to get a pacemaker/defibrullator in March, and is still adjusting to having a very weak heart (20% heart strength), so I tend to stress over his health a lot, and when I'm stressing out, I tend to eat more than I should. So I will be working on making healthier food choices over time.

Hi all...I'm new to sparkteams and am hopeful that it can help me make the right decisions and be held accoutable for getting fit and healthy. I realize I am the only one standing in my way and I am in control of my happiness...this morning I found myself yelling at the top of my lungs at God...I was angry...life has been a struggle and I continually have to "try" to be positive and remain faithful and righteous...and this morning i had just had enough...I screamed that I was just tired of being me...life shouldn't be difficult...I have all kinds of things to be thankful for and life in general is great and He continues to bless me and my family and yet I cannot find an ounce of motivation to care about myself and do what I have to do to get in shape...I always fail...no matter how many times I pray...so many times I feel forsaken and I know that that's not the case. I have the armor of God - I read scripture a lot and I try and try and try and I just can't get out of this stupid rut. One day I'm good and the next I'm miserable... So here I am in raw honestly and I'm looking for help...

Hi,im new to spark people and im on a mision for a better, healthier and sexier body. But i cant seem to lose the weight i just keep gaining. Counting those calories and working out every chance i get but nothing is working. Ive considered not eating at to skipping meals at night and im on a mission to reach my first goal of losing 9 kg's and im willing to do just about anything including not eating...but i love food to much not to eat... I need help and support to keep me sane lol

Hi! I'm Jackie from Hillsborough, NH and I'm 56. I found out a month ago that I have diabetes. I'm learning to cope with it, and learn how to eat better. I'm exercising more and getting into great shape.
My mission? Get my numbers under control, and finish up another certification for teaching. I have 2 ILCs (indepencdent learning contracts) and 1 summer course on Assistive Technology, and I'll be done. I'm starting to lose steam on this project. I just need to stay motivated.
Also, I need to get in shape for a big hiking trip this summer. My hasband and I are hiking the two peaks of Mt. Katahdin in Maine in June.

Hi, I'm Vicki. I live in Titusville, Fl. I'm 55 years old and about 80 lbs over weight. I've been trying for over a year to get my weight down and all I've done is yo-yo back and forth. So I've started a lower carb plan like I did back in the 80's ( I lost 105 lbs in 13 months and kept it off for 18 years), and I'm hoping to get the weight back off over the course of the next 2 years. I'm not nearly as active as I used to be so I know the weight won't come off as fast as it did back then. Plus I've gone into full menopause so my body tends to have a mind of it's own. I lose motivation easily so I'm hoping the team will help keep me motivated to stay on track. Thanks for having me.

Hello, my name is Kimberlynn and I am definitely on a mission to become the best version of myself that I can possibly be.
It's sort of curious that when I was still interested in being in a relationship I was more stressed about my weight which was more unmanageable. Now that I have gotten to a place in my life where I am absolutely happy and perfectly thrilled to be on my own and by myself I am more serious about being at my best. Hi, I live in the UK, I'm single and 46. I live with a dog who is adorable! (I'm biased!) I am a re-tread at Sparks but new to this team. Hello, I have been a member of Sparkpeople for a few years, but have away for a while bringing back with me some added weight. I am back with a new mindset and a new vengence in wanting to once and for all get on the right track to lose this weight!! I've started my video journaling again, will be exercising with Wii fit, drinking my water, not eating after 8pm and am praying for strength to really stick with it this time to do what I need to do for my health sake (High cholestrol).

hi i am gina, i here to change my life, and live a great life. i have been at spark before and didnt like the way people were but i am here now with it seems happier people being good with me. i workout 4 times a week at the gym and work hard. my mom is here online too. she and i go to weightwatchers as well as the gym. we dont always have the same way of doing things but were good. i want to be skinner for my birthday but keep it off natrualy not loseing to much at one time. i just been diagnosed with high blood pressure which i had once and i diagnosed it when i was 18 but then it was so good i didnt need anything. now it is back and i weigh less then i did before. weird huh. i was shocked and upset yesterday but i am one in done with it now and its on. i am moving on to make it go away for good. thank you for acepting me here.

Hi everyone, glad to be joining the team! I like the look of the team goals and the weekly challenges from December--can't wait to see what's next! I gained a lot of weight in the last few years and I'm trying to change my lifestyle to keep it off for good. I managed to run a marathon last year and drop a lot of weight, but it all came back. I just quit smoking four months ago, and that also added another ten pounds. My metabolism just isn't what it used to be!

Hi. I'm Sid. I lost 55 pounds a few years ago and kept it off for more than two years, but then in the past year through a combination of too much work and nagging injuries I've gained back 20 (though I've taken some of that off since being on Sparkpeople). I like to be challenged, so this group appeals to me.

Hello, I am excited to join you all in this challenge. I am 34 and a mother of 4. Oldest is son 14 and twins that are 10 and a 16 month old. So I have been a really driven excerciser now for about 3 years and I only have 7.5 lbs to go but it is so hard to drop those last few!! I am a new runner, up to 2.5 miles now (three times a week) and working my way up to 3 miles. I also do JM's circuits 4 or 5 times a week. So, hopefully we will all accomplish what we need to on this journey! Best of luck to all!

Hi,

Hi I've been here and I have been there. I am a long standing spark member. I have been married for almost 20 years with 3 kids. One of which is going to graduate this upcoming year. emoticon . I am looking forward to being challenged. This summer most of my time I hate to admit have spent kind of running behind the kids. They are going back to school soon. Now I want to start back to work on me. I am currently fine tuning my goals. One of them is to reach my goal weight by my next birthday. Wish me luck and Hi. emoticon

My name is Jackie and i am 21. I have been married for 2.5 years. I am in school right now to become an elementary school teacher. I hope to teach 4th, 5th or 6th grade. I graduate Spring 2010. I have 57 pounds to lose. :o)

It's a beautiful day here in Colorado Springs, and I'm here in my office trying to motivate myself to work.
We have what's called the Colorado Springs Incline, and basically its a trail that was made years ago going straight up a mountain and I used to be able to make it up and back in a couple of hours. I'm kind of debating if I'm prepared cardio wise to try it again. Maybe Memorial Day weekend. I'm afraid that it's going to take me 4 hours to do it. any feedback?

WOW! With all these cats I must be in the right place! How is everyone? I have been searching for a good team for a while (a lot have very little activity!) and came across this team. Everyone seems very determined, motivated positive and so supportive, just the group I was looking for! I am so excited to be back on spark, I fell off the wagon in September but desperately need to hop back on!
