Welcome to the team! I'm also sorry to hear about your sister. I never really realized how scary type 1 is until I got diagnosed with type 2. I was not happy with my fbs, they got as high as 189, had to change everything I was eating. I still eat fruit but not as much, can not touch sugar or will pay the price. I like my A1C under 6 but its getting harder to keep it that way. Now that the holidays are approaching got to be aware. Wont have another blood test until next year and aiming for my A1C to be under 6.0, wish me luck!
New here too, and hope you get an answer. I'm not pre-diabetic, but it runs in the family; brother has it and is pretty sick. I feel, though, by trying to eat as if I do have diabetes it will address my over-all health needs and help me lose weight.
How do you know your sugars are going crazy? Dr or self testing? Keep on top of it and consult your dr with any questions.
I'm sorry for the loss of your sister.

I'm new to this topic however I've been a sparker for a couple yrs. My sister died of type 1 diabetes just a couple months prior to her 16th birthday. So diabetes has always been a fear for me. I realize that with diet and weight management type 2 is for the most part preventable. But here I find myself with fasting sugars that are going crazy. So I decided to joing this team page to see if I could see what is working for others.
