ok. Thanks. I have a friend who is an instructor and have done a few classes with her, but I'm not very experienced at the moves. So, I ordered the Zumba total fitness with 1 million CDs to practice at home and get great. Then, I'll take myself to the instructor class. I am a dietitian and trying to add a fitness certification without pursuing the personal trainer route. Congrats on the weight loss. I'm a WW lifetime member!!!!
In order to be a Zumba Instructor, you must take the Zumba Certification course of Basic 1 as a minimum. If you are comfortable being in front tof a class and your movement is clear, you have rhythm, and great energy, then go for it. Practice makes perfect, as with anything. Go to Zumba.com and check out Instructor Training classes near you. In the meantime, to to as many classes nearby your home as possible. Visit different instructor's classes as everyone is a bit different. you will learn what you like and don't like. Then when you take the training you will learn the Zumba formula and principles.
