You shouldn't have to but if you want to I think it could help. I'm a teacher and theorhetically, you shouldn't have to buy them. Why don't you keep at it for a few months and see how it goes? Also, every teacher is a bit different, so if you're lucky enough to have many classes nearby, try out different people and places. See what jives with your own likes and needs. Go to Zumba.com and put in your zip code to get places to go to.
