Yes--please do join the Zumba Instructors team!! It's for anyone who is an instructor or is interested in becoming one.

About your training day--wow that's so exciting!! I had to wait MONTHS for there to be one close enough to me to drive to (even still-it was 3 hours and 2 states away!!)

To read about my experience, check out my Spark Page--my blog for Oct 7th describes it in some detail!
Good luck--don't be nervous!! It's FUN!!!!!

Thanks Zumbaphile, that makes my nerves calm down a little. I love going to my Zumba classes and I hope that I feel the same way teaching them. I think I have some adjusting to do as far as leading a group. How many classes are you planning to teach a week?

Welcome! I was just licensed a week and a half ago. Don't worry... there were people there (gym owners, CEU seekers, etc.) who had never done Zumba before. Ever! You'll be fine! I learned a ton of preparation tips from the instructors' forum. They have also been an invaluable source of info as I prepare to teach my first class. Good luck and have fun!!!

Welcome to the team! Congrats on becoming licensed! Its very exciting!! There is a SparkTeam for Zumba Instructors - you should come join us over there as well!!

As far as your class goes - be prepared to Zumba ALL day, its going to be a long day and it will be tiring, but you'll have a blast!!!

For compensation - its going to vary based on location and state that you're in. Some gyms will pay a set rate (i.e. $25 a class) while others will pay based on how many people show up at the class ($2 a student, etc). You might want to ask around and see what other instructors are making at the facility and go from there!

Have fun at your class!! Its a great experience!!! OH and JOIN ZIN!!!! Its totally worth it!!!

Hi! This is my first forum post. I have been doing Zumba for about two months and love it, decided that I am going to take an instructor course. It's next week!! Ahh! I wanted some input on what to expect... I am scared that I am going to be the least experienced person there. Also, I will be teaching Zumba where I work and wanted some advise on what I should be asking for as far as compensation goes. Any input helps!
