Hi all - just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I'm new to Zumba (took my first class today and LOVED it) and newish to SparkPeople (joined almost 2 weeks ago and lost 7 lbs so far)
My name is Donna and I live on Long Island, NY.
I've always had trouble staying motivated to exercise. I used to love Jazzercise years ago, but I can't seem to find classes close to home that fit into my schedule. I've been hearing a lot about Zumba lately and how much fun it is, so I went and tried out a class this morning. It's great - it's like Jazzercise taken up a notch, with a Latin accent! I think this is something I'll WANT to do a couple of times a week.
It's been a long time since I've exercised regularly, and I do have a lot of weight to lose, so since it was my first time I modified the moves in class to fit my own level. I intend to go 2-3 times a week from now on, and hopefully soon I won't have to modify so much.
Anyway, didn't mean to write a novel, just wanted to say hi.
