Hi Mindy
Yeh it does pan to the audience alot, but when it does its great to look at the ones that im doing better than, gives me the confidence to know that im doing so well, iv put up a mirror where i do zumba, and love seeing myself do the moves right.
Will try flat abs today. Crunchless abs? whats that?

I have done the Zumba Live, and it is probably my least favorite at this point. It is definately a great workout, I just find it harder to follow the moves when they pan out to the audience so much. I like when the focus is on the instructors. I would love to have a body like Gina!!
I like the Flat Abs work-out and have added "Crunchless Abs" into that routine.

I was able to get a pair of shoes today at a local dance store,. I got a pair of the Blochs & they're great. I got a size 10.5, & they fit my wide feet great. I tried doing it with just my barefeet, but it hurt too much. I figured it was the carpet itself or the fact that I'm just too big. Anyway, there's no stopping me now! Thanks for everyone's help!

I absolutely love Zumba!! I do it in my barefeet on carpeted floors. Any other way, just doesn't feel normal.
The DVD's are so much fun, you will love them. I agree with SamanthaJane25 about getting into some of the longer DVD's. The 1-hour one where it breaks down all the moves, is good, but the moves are not necessarily done how they are broken down once you put them into a routine. The Cardio Party is my FAVORITE!! I just love it.
No matter what...just keep moving!!

Hi all, this is my second time around on spark.. this time I am getting more involved. I wanted to join this spark team since I am taking my first zumba class tomorrow at my gym. Wish me luck.. I'm definitely out of shape but I sure love to dance and zumba looks fun..

That's the first thing I tried, was barefoot. Maybe I'm just too heavy or the carpet is just too messed up. Thanks guys!

I also do Zumba barefoot on my carpeted floors. I found that shoes made me stick to the floor and I was afraid of twisting my ankle.

Hi Jennifer, welcome to Zumba.
The dvds are definitly worth the money. So much fun. I have had a suggestion to do yoga as well for strength and flexability!
Im not really sure about shoes, i do it bare feet, on floor boards. I suggest that you get straight into cardio party or sculpt and tone. I started with basic the first time, but thought if i was going to learn the routines properly, I should get straight into the main ones, so I started with sculpt and tone and after about 5 times I really started to do well, and remembered what moves came next. Throw yourself in the deep end, youl get it. I recently started doing cardio party and absolutly adore doing it, and i seemed to pick up the moves alot easier. Goodluck, Zumba baby!!

Hey there, I'm Jennifer & I'm new to Zumba. I have the dvd's at home & have done the Basic so far. I have carpeted floors, so today I went out to New Balance to see what they have (I have 10Wide feet). i tried on a pair & they looked nice, felt good, & so I tried (on their carpeted floors) to do some turns on the balls of my feet. Something just didn't feel right. So, now I look at their website, & I just put Zumba in the search to see if something came up.. the New Balance 474. It looks good, & the write up says it's good for any dance-centric activities. Sounds good!!! Has anyone tried these? It's great to be here!!!
