My name is Rhonda, and though I'm not new to Sparkpeople (been a member on and off for about 2 years now) I am new to this board.
I have been a practicing Wiccan for about 20 years now. I've been over-weight all my life, or at least since I was 7. Like most people, I fought the battle with every fad diet I could get my hands on. I had pretty much given up until my health insurance had approved me for gastric-bypass surgery. I had it done in 2006. It went very well, I lost about 130 lbs, went from 320 to 190.
However in the past couple of years, I had some health issues that made it difficult to keep my weight under control, and I've gained back about 50 lbs. This week I decided it's time to get back in control of my weight. The health issues have gotten better, at least as much as they are ever going to, so there are no more excuses.
At least with the WL surgery, it is easier to get myself back on track than it used to be.
I hope to meet all of you, and hope to get some motivation for getting rid of the weight I've gained, plus a few extra that I wasn't able to shed before my health issues occurred. I will be happy if I can get back to the weight I was two years ago, when my husband and I wed, but will be exstatic if I can reach my real goal of 175.
It's okay to talk to yourself. It's even okay to argue with yourself...but if you argue with yourself and you LOSE, you're in trouble!!!
