Ganesha has taken a firm hand in my healing over the past 5 years. My main deity is Siva, and I prefer His/Her combined form, Ardhanishwara. I do have murtis of Lakshmi and Saraswati, in addition to several Ganeshas and a few Sivas... mostly just have pictures taped up on my walls of my favorites.

I overcame my spiritual obesity, now for the physical!

Thanks for the welcome!

I haven't really studied a lot of the Indian pantheon. I keep Lakshmi and Ganesha on one of my alters and have channeled Kali Ma once -- intense!

Mostly though I work with the Egyptians and Celts.

Good to meet you. I have been studying Saiva Hinduism myself... the main difference between mainstream Buddhism and Saiva Hinduism (especially Virasaiva and Trika Shaiva) is the direct belief in Siva... philosophically there are few differences.

I do have an IndoPaganPaths group on Orkut.com (the least known part of the Google conglomerate), and am Moderator (not Owner) of the IndoPaganPaths Yahoogroup... There was an excellent article in the Spring 2008 issue of PanGaea Magazine on "The Emerging IndoPagans"... I'm embarassed and proud to say that I was quoted rather extensively...

Hugs,
Moss

Hi all,

I've been on SparkPeople for about 10 days and found this forum through GoodWitchD.

I've been a practicing pagan for about 10 years though paganism has been my belief system for twice that time. From the outside I probably look Wiccan but my beliefs and practices are more eclectic so I consider myself just pagan. My main practices come from the Celtic and Egyptian pantheons as well as some Buddhism and Vedic beliefs and shamanic practices...all with a little twist of my own.

I'm looking forward to meeting other pagans with similar health goals.

Blessed Be
