Hi Nat! I think that's great that you're enjoying your free time. What program did your dd go to? My two younger girls were into ballet for years and the youngest one could have probably done something with it if she'd wanted to. Alas, she didn't have the kind of work ethic her older sister had and the elder didn't have the body conformation of a ballerina. They both do Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and one likes African dancing.
Hi all! Thought I'd jump in on this thread because it describes where I'm at too! My nest is mostly emplty and I'm focusing on me! I have a 23 year old son, a 21 year old son and a 16 year old daughter who left for a ballet program earlier than we had planned. And now suddenly I have all this time on my hands. So in September I decided I finally needed to quit making excuses and get moving and lose the weight I have put on over the last 7 years or so. I've lost around 20 pounds since she left and I'm enjoying the extra time for me and the time I can spend with my husband. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome, Renee! Hope you will join us in our discussions! We are all trying to focus a bit on "ME" instead of the "kids" since they have "moved out"--so you sure fit in! I am working on the last 5 pounds--but then will have to maintain this loss so it will still keep me busy!! I find I do like exercising more now than I did when I started--and I really like how I look and feel compared to "before"!!

Sounds like you are in transition as much as your son---LOL---hope you have plenty of room but sounds like you won't be actually alone right now. We are all in different stages so you will fit in just fine. I have 3 sons---32, 31, and 22---my youngest son just graduated in May from college and is getting married in January. The older 2 are on their own. but with my youngest son's job, it almost seems like we are alone most of the time now so hoping it won't be too bad a transition for us. We do have a wonderful granddaughter by my middle son who is 3 and a half so we watch her when ever we can. You are so right about you want to feel good about yourself---good for you in doing it for YOU.

Hello! My name is Renee and I have recently sent my youngest son to college. I think it is now time to think about me and get my weight back under control. I am not really an empty nester because I have moved in with my mother and my son and his family has moved in too lol. I have a long distance relationship with a great guy that I met on the internet and hopefully one day we will not be long distance. I have been on SP for two years and lost 65 lbs. I have gained over half of it back, mostly due to emotional eating. I am going to lose it again and feel better about myself and my guy...of course he loves me just the way I am but I don't and that is what matters. I look forward to chatting and working together to get to our goal weights!
