I successfully lost 26 pounds last year through the support and tools on this site. This year I want to lose 23 more ( I gained 8 back - Yikes!) and continue working towards healthy lifestyle goals for the long term.
I am a full-time working mother of two small children and a part-time student. If it wasn't for my planner, I'd be lost!

As salaamu alaikum Munee and all, My name is Jamillah, I am in Durham, NC..I am not doing so well these days..I was on a no sugar, low carb diet and actually did very well..the diet was quite boring..but effective..I like this website although it can be quite overwhelming..I took a trip to Egypt and have not been able to get back on track..or should I say I have not been able to get motivated again...glad to see us all here and pray that Allaah gives us what we need

I'm Munee. Originally from New York now living in Dubai. I am trying actively to lose weight for the first time in my life . I had always been thin and ate whatever I felt like . I never gave a thought to calories or nutrition. Not to say that all I ate was junk. Just that eating or more to the point choosing a well balanced diet wasnt something I gave much thought to. Well gradually I started putting on weight and one day I found myself 40 lbs over my usual weight (which was very thin) So my goal now is to lose 20lbs and keep it off. This site seems to be a good way to keep track of everything once I familiarize myself with it.
