1 pound down!!!

Not to mention I'm feeling good. Not bloated and weighed down. This is definitely something that might be worth doing the few days before my wedding in October.

I started planning out meals for Saturday-Friday (my last day of Jumpstart is tomorrow) and since I'll be out of town this weekend it is not easy, but if I can lose 25 pounds by my honeymoon it is well worth it. 30 weeks for 25 pounds.. piece of cake, right? Or should I say piece of Avocado :)

Don't forget to measure yourself, too! My sister is doing this with me. She hasn't lost any weight, but she's lost 2 inches around her stomach.

There have been some days I've been ravenous--with that shaky feeling, too. I love your idea of a few chocolate chips.

The hardest adjustment for me is the portion size. I was eating way past full . . and not knowing it. Never feeling full--but just steady--is strange.

Did better on day 2 then day 1, but not too bad either way. Felt shaky after lunch yesterday so I had a few chocolate chips (about 35 calories worth) and that seemed to help almost immediately so I added them today also before I got the shaky feeling and felt much better.

I can see/feel it in my wrists/hands which is where I usually see it first when I get back to eating right and exercising so that is a good sign. I don't think the scale has budged yet but I'm sure it will by Friday :)

Congrats on your weight loss so far!

I'm nearing the end of my second week -- and it's going great so far. I weigh myself everyday, which the book recommends because people who weigh themselves daily lose more than those who don't.

So far (because the scale fluctuates) I've lost between 5-10 pounds! My clothes are definitely fitting looser.

How about you? How are you doing?

Glad to hear that FBD seems to be going well for both of you.
It definitely is a very doable way of living.
I especially liked using it to focus on managing the quantity and quality of the fat in my diet - which in and of itself is incredibly important.

I'm not strictly following FBD right now. But overall what I am doing is close (with mufa in most meals but not always all meals). I'll be getting back into FBD later this year but am focusing more on getting exercise built up and more consistent right now. I'll bring the focus back to food more once I get this exercise thing under control.
Even if I'm not 100% FBD right now, I still find myself regularly looking at my menu ideas and tweaking them based on what I learned with FBD in prior year.

Anyway, welcome aboard the FBD team. Activity here is a bit up and down - it gets busy for awhile then it dies for awhile and so on. When it's quiet though, look into some of the old threads because there if a wealth of info and ideas buried there. Also, if you have a question just post it ..... it may take a few days but usually some one will reappear and try to help you out.

Good Luck!

I have an elementary aged daughter and like you, I'm trying to get her interested.

Yes, I am following the plan precisely. I have difficulty losing weight (thyroid problems) and this helps me monitor better to know I've done this exactly.

I do have to replace some foods sometimes. I do not like olives, avocados and can't eat soybeans . . but I purchased avocados and think I can make myself like them. (There's no hope for olives as far as I can tell.) But I love the other MoFus. I also replace red peppers with tomatoes --as I'm not a tomato eater.

Are you by the book or freer?

I saw the author on The Drs Show talking about her new book and found her FBD books on my kindle. I found about 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches that work well for me and I am currently working on identifying some dinner options that will feed the family too.

Meanwhile I have started a gardenette with a lemon tree, a couple spearmint and a bunch of cucumber plants. The tree has about 20 lemons that are growing and I am already using the mint leaves. Hoping the cucumbers will produce too. LOL!

I also find FBD doable. I actually bought Engine2 but it was too hard to find the stuff for it. I did the Atkins with my hubby about a decade ago. I did true Atkins while he did the carnivore version. LMAO! So FBD is actually the first diet that I've ever tried.

I am pleased with the benifits. I've slowly lost 20 lbs so far and wish to loose 40 lbs more by Thanksgiving/Christmas. I am still really concentrating on remembering to eat enough fruit and vegtables each day.

Looking to buy some stickers or stamps for the (3) kids (tod-preK-1st) to get in the fruit/veggie deal too. Hubby has several family members suffering from cancer/diabeties/cardiovascular issues to the point of immenant mortality. He keeps saying that he wants to do something but it isn't reducing meat and soda.

My mom suffers from diabeties but she won't give up/reduce meats and junky comfort food. The insulin makes her feel like she can compensate for it by adjusting the dosage. Although she is impressed with my progress this year and she has started a terrific garden project. I hope it produces so she has lots of veggies to eat.

Thanks, Smiles! I think I was interested in the Flat Belly Diet when it first came out, but was at a different point in my life, one where I didn't feel free to follow it. I found the book again recently and thought 'You really wanted to get this before! Buy it!" I'm SO glad I did. It's exactly where I am. I've been reading up on The Best Life Diet--and am just about to enter into the 1600 calorie a day phase. The FBD is SO much better than what I've been struggling to do.

This is day three--I just weighed myself and I've lost 3 pounds (on the scale at least, which I'll take!)

What about you? How did you find out about the FBD

Hi! Book girl! I am stoked that someone else is trying FBD this year! I got started a few months ago and I am down about 20 lbs so far. Many of the people in this team are not active in the team as much. So how did you find FBD?

Greetings, I've been a member of SparkPeople for years, but my former shyness kept me from ever participating in the teams much. Since joining SparkPeople, I've dropped about 50-60 pounds and am now on the Flat Belly Diet. I was just sitting here wishing I knew a group of people doing it, too .. . so I checked the teams.

Yay! You exist!

I just wanted to say hello!
