I have never used coconut oil.

THERE IS AN ARTICLE ON COCONUT OIL HERE ON SPARK. I CAN'T REMEMBER MOST OF IT, BUT I THINK IT SAYS IT'S OKAY...HAS ANYONE ELSE READ IT?

I don't think that it does, because it's low in monounsaturated fat relative to other oils:
Coconut oil contains approximately 92.1% saturated fatty acids, 6.2% monounsaturated fatty acids, 1.6% polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Almond oil contains 62% monounsaturated fatty acids, 24% polyunsaturated & 6% saturated fatty acids.
Macdamia nut oil has the most MUFAs. It contains up to 85% monounsaturated fats.
From what I've read about coconut oil, it has other health benefits, but it's not really a MUFA.
I don't think so but I know it's said to be a good thing....tasty too!!!
