It sure is. It seems that we are focused on caring for others and are always giving, thus forgetting about ourselves. I know that when I was working night shift I often skipped sleep to attend the kids activities.

Hi I have been a nurse for 29 years. All has been in OB or PEDS. I worked 15 years in OB, 5 years in pediatric home care, 1 year in an OB/GYN office,5 years in NICU, Now 2 years as a school nurse. During my hospital and home care I have managed to pack on over 100 excess pounds. Most of it was to battle the fatigue from rotating shifts and the many years of night shift. Two and a half years ago I had a cardiac cath and ended up with two stents and some angioplasty. All this stemmed from an irregular heart beat, no pain. Needless to say I must change my lifestyle.
