Do you feel the gastric bypass was a good way to go? My husband's doctor wants him to have it done, but we are leery of it because he has so many medical issues already. But he has gained about 100 pounds in the past 2 years due to having back surgery and not being able to get up and exercise any more. We are trying to get input from people that have had it done so we can make an informed decision about it.
I hope you find a way to exercise at home. I use an exercycle while watching tv, but need to get back in the habit of doing it again. Good luck to you.
Hi: I am from a small town in the mountains of south west Virginia. There is not a lot of fitness groups that address fibromyalgia and exercise. I live on a very limited income so joining our local wellness center is not an option. Our weather here is at times very unpredictable and the very cold temperatures and weather conditions affect whether or not to pursue outdoor fitness activities. I love the outdoors and use to enjoy walking on many of the trails within a 10 minute drive of my home. It is so frustrating because I will exercise one day and it takes 1 or more days to recover. I have a dog that is large and he needs the exercise also, lol. He has gotten pudgy this winter. I had a gastic bypass 11 1/2 years ago and needless to say I have gained back about 70% of the weight I initially lost. I deal with many vitamin and digestive issues as a result of the surgery. I want to lose my weight down to a healthy level and also to exercise.to the best of my physical limitations.
