Welcome Jane. I'm sure you can tell by now we are a chatty bunch. I'm glad to see you've joined in our newest challenge.
It's good your DH is doing well with the health issues. I'm sure you'll do fine on the Rx licensing.

Hello Jane - Welcome to the RV Enthusiasts! It is so wonderful that your husband's health is improving and that you have decided to improve yours as well. This SP group is so supportive and the periodic challenges are good motivators. I hope it won't be too difficult for you to get your AZ pharmacists license. Please post often enough so we know how you are doing.

My name is Joyce and I'm from Iowa.

Thanks Brenda!

Now that we have sticks and bricks again, we are thinking about downsizing instead of upsizing so we can get into more remote places. We'll see. The 5'er is paid for so I'm not too crazy about the idea of losing $$$ on it.

Hello everyone!

My name is Jane. I am 51 and was full timing with my husband Ken from June 2012 to December 2013. He was facing some serious health challenges and undergoing very difficult treatments and we decided to travel to make the best of it...resting on the days he did not feel well. (Finished treatment successfully and doing great now!) After a year and a half in our 28 foot Arctic Fox FW, we decided we either needed to get a bigger FW (necessitating a bigger truck) or stick with part time RV travel and find a place to settle down in the winter.

We ended up in Lake Havasu, AZ this winter to hang out with our snowbird cousins who have been coming here for 7 years. We fell in love with this town and started looking at homes. After comparing the price of a new RV and truck to the price of a home, we decided to invest the money in a home instead of sinking it into depreciating assets like vehicles.

We plan on traveling when it is unbearably hot here. Sunbirds instead of snowbirds! I am hoping that once I get my AZ license (pharmacist) I can work the cooler months when the snowbirds are here and travel in the hot months when they are gone.

I am currently studying to pass the national pharmacy licensure boards (which makes me a little stressed out...hence the weight gain this year!). I am licensed in CA but no one reciprocates with my license since it was earned at a time when CA did not reciprocate with anyone else. I am definitely getting my knowledge base back up to speed after a couple of decades postgrad! The glass is half full!

As far as weight goes...I'm here for good. It has always been a struggle. I have had periods where I have been able to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle for several years only to end up back 4 sizes bigger than I want to be. Stress and emotional eating are my biggest challenges.

Weight loss is a side benefit of healthy living. The tools here at SP have been valuable beyond compare. The food tracker helped me figure out what types of foods make me feel good (high protein, low refined carbs) and what types of foods make me hungry all the time. The articles give me a boost when I need it, as do supportive sparkfriends.

I look forward to getting to know you my teammates!

Jane

Welcome thewriteword ! Please tell me your real name. I am TC or Theresa and I am looking forward to getting to know you. I am in the planning stage also as I am 52 and not quite as near to retirement as I would like to be. We just finished a challenge and will be waiting awhile before starting another. I had a 1988 Class A that I gave to my brother last year because it was at the point I could not keep up with the up keep so am looking for another and hoping for free or near it. LOL !!! We all connect on the daily chat thread so feel free to stop by and get to know everyone. This is a very supportive group without being too demanding of time. TC

Welcome back healthy4 me !
Do you have a first name ? I follow you blogs sometimes and you are insightful. Thank you for that. I just camp in summers since I work FT. We take 1 trip a year that is 2 weeks. Mom used to winter in AZ and she had 3 friends that were there 6 months, then back to Canada but I do not remember where they lived. Hope to see more of you. TC or theresa

Welcome back. Whether you're a full timer or a just want to be RVer. We welcome you to this team. We are all at different phases in our RVing. I live in my 5th wheel full time, but haven't gotten to travel in about 5 years. Prior to that we lived and traveled full time with DHs job. I love the lifestyle. We are here to help with any questions about RVing and helping on your journey to better health and fitness. Pop in and join our discussions. Don't worry about not knowing anyone or what we're talking about. The more you come in and post the more you'll get to know us. We are definitely chatty, lol. Again welcome back.

HI all, I was here for while, and then we kept changing our minds about rv, cottage etc. well should say I kept changing my mind, Hubby wants to full time rv for years now. not able at this time due to family issues ( my dad lives with us).

But more I think about it and read I think you know what, try it, just don't put all my money into it.... harder for us as we are Canadian and it is hard to have to stay in your province for 6months in order to keep your insurance, yet be FT as our province the campgrounds are not open long enough. But if we leave and go to the west of Canada, then we still have bad weather to get back in time... We are figuring the logistics of it all, perhaps move to a diff province that allows longer times out or warmer. I don't know...
Anyway.missed you guys so figured I would hang around and see what is going on and get some ideas.
HUGS and glad I am back!

Welcome GRLTAZ. We are here to help support you in your efforts to get in shape and lose weight if that is your goal. We are full timers in a sense. We live in our 5th wheel full time, but don't do any traveling these days. This group has all kinds of RVers, so we welcome all. I saw you've joined our challenge. They are always fun and different than most teams. While competing against each other, we also support everyone.
Welcome.

Welcome, GRLTAZ! I am an RN also, just officially retiring this year. DH and I are planning on traveling and going full time but are waiting to sell our home and property. We belong to a Good Sam's group and camp once monthly, Sunday through Thursday morning.

It is hard when you lose your motivation, start back with the small things......like drinking all your water, getting your steps in, cutting out sodas, etc. I know it takes planning when you are working and your time is limited. Good luck with your program and welcome again to the team. emoticon emoticon

Hi all,
I have been joining teams to see where my niche is, where I feel most comfortable. I have been with spark since 2009 but am gaining weight again. Highest ever, ugh. I love Rving but I work full time as a RN and live in IA so only camp in summer. I have a fit bit for tracking steps which helps a little but I really need some accountability.

Welcome, Erika! We will be glad to help you with whatever questions you may have. We just bought a new RV this year and are very happy with it. Remember when you buy an RV, never pay the full asking price and never buy one with no money down or you will soon be upside down on it. Your first one, you are better off buying a well-kept used one till you see how you like RV'ing. Then, once you know a little, you will know better what you want and what suits your needs. Visit lots of RV shows and tour lots of them, that is what we did. I also studied for 2 years on the internet before buying this one. It is very good to be educated on them and how they are built, and how they hold up.

We met some people here at our home park who bought a brand new RV (2013) last year, and this year, it is already falling apart. They also paid WAY too much for it and are out all that money, now. You must be very careful to buy quality, and you have to see a lot of RV's before you can discern the difference. You can't believe the salesmen! We will be happy to help however we can.......Again, welcome! emoticon

Welcome Don and Sharon. I live in southern Louisiana only a couple of hours from Houston. When you start your trip you'll have to come over this way. Be sure and pop in on our Tell Us About your Day thread and let everyone know you're here. Don't let all the chatting intimidate you, just jump right in.

Hi, Don! So, you are in Texas, too! We are but are in the DFW area rather than Houston. We bought our RV used in 2011 and boy, are we ever hooked! We absolutely LOVE RV'ing and now belong to a Good Sam's Group here in Cleburne. We go camping every month for a week. We hope to eventually go full time, and are in the process of readying our house to sell so that we can buy a new 5th wheel and hit the road! We already had the truck, so the 5th wheel was a logical choice.

Enjoy your trip across the South, and keep us posted! emoticon

Hi Don - I'm glad to see you post with us. My name is also Sharon so I'll be able to remember your wife's name easily enough! What is your wife's User Name for our Team. Your trip across the south sounds like a wonderful experience for both of you. You will enjoy the planning and traveling and Sharon will enjoy the ancestry research part.

If you don't know, a group of the RV members are meeting in Custer, SD in September. Just for the opportunity to meet several members face to face. A lot of our members are retired and are able to make the trip. I would like to invite you and your wife to join the group. If you can and are interested, we have a Sticky thread about it under the General Discussion. Or I am available to answer any questions you may have.

Hi, I am Don and have been married to my bride Sharon for almost 45 years. My family moved from Louisiana and hers from Mississippi so we could meet in high school. We both retired for the final time in the last year, and bought a used 29' trailer from a friend. Have only made a few trips so far, but love it. Planning a trip across the south to trace our family history in the states. My wife does the ancestry research and I plan the trip. Both of us are Sparkers and both members of this team. Would love to get with others RVers from the Houston area.

Welcome, Gisela! I just joined this team in August, good to have you aboard. I am also originally from Michigan, moved to Texas in 1981 and glad I did. I graduated from Lapeer High School in Lapeer, Michigan and went to college at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan.
DH and I want to go full time, right now are trying to sell our current residence, it is much too big for us. Lots of preparation still to do, but it is all cosmetic.
Enjoy your Mexican dinner! emoticon

Thanks for the warm welcome. We will be bumming around AZ for the next six weeks or so. Maybe our paths will cross. We also will be spending some time in Mich. this spring. My husband grew up there and still has a brother in Kalamazoo. We'll be around Cedar Springs for his High School reunion in June. Then off to Newfoundland for the summer. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better. Had a nice 60 min. walk in the desert today with RV friends. I'll need it since we're going to meet other RV friends in Brenda today to go out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Another challenge.

Welcome Gisela, looking forward to getting to know you here. We all are chatty and love to get to know more about you. I hope you get the opportunity to meet Sharon while you are both in Az this winter. She is a wonderful person, I've had the privilege of meeting with her on a couple of different occasions. A couple more of our team will be there in Az during this winter as well. It would be great if you were all able to meet.
Let us know what we can do to help you on your journey to better health and fitness.

Hi Gisela - you are among friends here and we welcome you! I have been with SP several years and love the Spark friends I have made. My weight fluctuates just like you and right now I am am a higher weight so perhaps we can work together to get our weight going back in the right direction.

I'm one of the Snowbirds. Our home base is in Zeeland, MI but we spend our winters here in Mesa, AZ. We will be here until the 1st of May. Where in the desert are you staying?

Hi my name is Gisela and as of June of last year we became full time RVers. Prior to that we mostly time from 2000 and kept our weekend place in the mountains 65 West of Washington DC. Back 2008 I joined Sparkpeople and lost about 30 pounds...well they're all back and so I'm back. We are currently out in the desert with about 120 friends at an RV rally. I'm looking forward to being a part of this group and getting back on tract.

Welcome Chris, We did the same thing you did. Bought a small used 5th wheel and truck but we both were working and difficult to get away week ends so it sat for a year before we took it out. Then my job went from S. Cal. to L A and I took an early retirement. DH was working on his third career and said to heck with it and quit. On our first trip to Texas to visit DH family we saw a bigger 5th wheel that we really liked. We came home and lo and behold the dealer here had the same model so we bought it. 29' ft this time. Of course the older truck wouldn't pull it so we had to buy a new truck too. On a trip to the east coast in 2003 we found a new motor home of our dreams and that is what we have today.

You will love traveling with the comforts of home along with you. Belonging to a camping group is wonderful because what your DH doesn't know to fix someone else in the club will have all the answers. You'll also hear of the wonderful places to visit as well.

Hi Chris and Welcome Again to our Team!
Your story is very familiar as most of us start with something small and used and then the RV bug bites and who knows what we end up with. Our current RV is a 38FT Georgetown MH. We live in MI but winter in Mesa, AZ. We do a lot of traveling throughout the year. This summer was an exception as when we got home in May we list our home For Sale and bought a new much smaller home in a manufactured home park. We wanted to downsize and yet have a home base near our children. We've only been in the new house a couple weeks so we're still adjusting but getting ready to hit the road again!

Hi, My name is Chris and my husband is Matt. I received an invitation to join this team from my good Spark Friend and was glad to see that there is such a team! Matt and I bought a used 5th wheel last year just to see if we would enjoy RVing and found it to be a passion for both of us!
Last fall we took a trip from Texas to Upstate New York (where my husband is from) We left home September 24 and were gone 3 weeks. (Would have been longer but I had to get back to my job)
Since then, we were invited to join our local Good Sam's Group and have been camping with them since March. Our desire now is to be Full Timers! Have a lot to do before that can happen, trying to sell both of our properties at the current time.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and to keep in touch with people who love RVing!

Just jump right in, you never know what the conversation is that's going on. We'll just catch up with you and your goings on. What part of south Texas do you stay in during the winter. HI everyone! I have had an invite to the team and I think I am a great fit!! We have been RVing it since 1972. Started with a pop up and took our kids out when they were just months old. We have had them in 42 states, Canada & Mexico as well as playing in the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf. I retired in 2009 and have been going south, staying with mom for the winter since. My DH retired last Dec. and we spent 6 months in the travel trailer we have and loved the wonderful experience!! We have been traveling during the week this summer and coming staying home over the weekends. Can't wait to get back to our winter home in south TX. as we take a big fall vacation on the way! So, you can see, we love the road! Glad to have found this group.

Hello!! Found this team and know it is one for me! Hubby and I are long time RVers--bought our first RV in 1976, another one in 2000, and our latest one in November 2011. We have a river camp for our RV in the summer and have been wintering "south" since my retirement two years ago! We especially love camping in national and state park campgrounds! I joined SparkPeople June 20 so haven't actually tried following my plan "on the go"! Going on a family camping trip to the beach in August and visiting family and attending a class reunion in September. Also planning a fall foliage trip in October. Want all the strategies and tips I can get!!!! Thanks!

One day at a time!

Keep on, keeping on!

Hi Susan
It's good to see you post. My hubby and I are retired since 2008. We have spent the last four winters in AZ and enjoy getting out of MI and the snow. We are in the process of selling our home and downsizing this summer so we are staying home more than normal.

Welcome to the team! Come over and post in the Tell Us About Your Day thread as that's where we do our daily posts.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Susan, and I live in SE Michigan. My DH and were truly Snowbirds until a couple of things happen: my DH oldest sister past last December, and I got tried of going to the same place - Florida during October-April.

My DH retired in 2003, and I am semi-retired (I teach Water Aerobics) we own a Class C w/slides and when we are on the road we travel with two cats. Actually, just returned from a one week camping trip.

This Fall will be our first time on 5 years hanging around Michigan during this time of year, we'll see what happen!

I sure don't blame you for being excited. Will you be making a RV trip yet this fall. Our home is in MI and when we are home, we love fall camping the best. What river in MI do you own land? We live between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo off 131 expressway.

Thanks for the welcome. We live in Northern Indiana. It is getting colder already. We went out and cleaned and put some things away yesterday evening. We have some land on a small river in Michigan. We plan to us it there a lot.

I am still working. My husband is retired.

We have some plans made yet for fall travel.

I am very excited...

Welcome Annie. What fun you are going to have getting your new motor home outfitted. I remember the trips to the store to buy odds and ends I thought I needed. Do you live in a warmer than northern climate that you will get to use your new toy this winter? We live in Southern Calif. and our camping season is just starting.

Welcome Annie. Yes Sharon and her hubby are footloose and fancy free.
It is exciting that you are getting your MH. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed our 5th wheel. You'll have to pop in on the Tell us about your day (6) and introduce yourself to the rest of the gang. It is where we do most of our chatting. We are a very chatty, but supportive group and hope we can help you and Tim on your road to better health.

Hi,
My name is Annie. My husband is Tim.

Hopefully we will have our RV this next week.We are buying an older MHM. We are buying a 99 Southwind 34S.

We are very excited..... We are making plans..

We dropped off of Spark people for a little while. I gained 4 pounds back, "doing it on my own". So, I am back and so is Tim. I have already gotten 2 of the 4 lbs off.. And, I am feeling better. What in the heck is wrong with my thinking. I failed the IQ test.

I hope to be smarter from now on.

A warm welcome from me too Pat. Now I'm not the newest one of the group.

You will have a wonderful trip to Oregon. I know you will find many things to see along the way. Oregon is a neat place to travel in also. We will be heading that way in Oct. to visit my DH niece.

From our cross country travels we've have good luck with computer connections. We use a Verizon Air Card. I think more and more camp grounds are putting in WiFi connections.

Safe travels.

Hi Pat!
I'm glad you decided to check in with us before you leave on your big adventure. I'm excited for you and yes, we'll be here to answer any questions you have along the way to Oregon. We leave for AZ on Tuesday of next week so we'll be traveling soon too. Let's hope you have internet connections along the way so you can keep in touch! Most of us on this team have posted pictures in our Photo Gallery of our RV's. If you haven't already, be sure and take a picture during your trip so you can post one too. You can also check out our Spark Pages to look at ours too. It's just fun to see what we all travel in.

Hi -
I'm Pat as well, and new to this team! Sharon invited me via another team, and I look forward to chatting with you all about travel adventures. As it happens, DH and I are leaving tomorrow for a month-long trip -- it's our post-retirement getaway...going from Wisconsin to Oregon where one of our daughters and her husband live. We have an 18 foot R-Vision travel trailer and pull it with a 2010 Chevy Silverado. We'll travel with our two dogs (crates in the capped truck bed) and meander our way out and back.

I debated introducing myself now as I don't know what kind of internet access I'll have in the next month, and how often I'll be able to check in with the team. But just in case - here I am - and I may ask for help/advice along the way as we travel! Up to now, the most we've done is about 10 days of vacation in the trailer at a stretch - but didn't do a long trip, just stayed at the same place for the duration. So, this will be new for us! Wish us luck! I'm pretty sure that I'll love it - and I just hope DH is the same - so that we can work RVing into our lifestyle in a regular way. I admire Patty who just joined for RV on her own since she loves it. You have to find a way to do what you love!

Take care, all and I look forward to getting to know you!

Pat

Welcome Patty. I think I would have no problem being a solo RVer, but would probably switch to a small MH instead of our 5th Wheel. I can set up and take down the 5th wheel by myself, all but the hook up. I've never done that, I'm not real comfortable pulling things though, so would probably go with something different. I'm glad to see you pop in and join us. I hope we can help you on your journey to better health.

Hello Again Patty!
I'm so glad to see you jump in and post with us. I also have a lot of respect for you being a lone RVer. I love the RV lifestyle but often wonder if I would continue by myself. I think I would downsize our 38' Class A to a Class C and be off and running again. So welcome and we all look forward to hearing about your adventures including your weekend rally's.

Patty, welcome to SparkPeople and to this group! I admire you for traveling solo. I'm not sure I'd have the guts to do it alone, mostly because I don't like to drive. (post-tramatic from an accident 13 years ago) If I did go it alone, I'd probably choose a Class C also. We've rented Class C's a couple times before we owned a rig and I think they're great for a single traveler.

Do you live in CA? We're in NH but spend Nov-April on the road - mostly in South Texas.

Patty, welcome!

I think it is great that you go alone if DH doesn't go. I am learning to do the different things around our motorhome in case I had to, but I think if I was alone that I could do it if I chose. I don't wish anything to happen to my DH, but I have wondered if I would still RV, and just recently I have come to the conclusion that I probably would if my health allowed.

I'm Patty and have only been on SparkPeople since June of this year. I'm trying to get healthy with better food choices and exercise.

Glad to find an RV Forum on SP. I'm 59 yrs old, married, but RV alone. My husband doesn't like RV's and has no desire to go anyplace! I bought my used class C four years ago, and belong to a RV Club that goes locally once a month, plus I take trips on my own.

I took my longest trip solo, last year from CA to FL and was gone 2 months. This year I took a 1 month trip thru AZ and NM. Not sure where I will go next.

Ann - your weather sounds wonderful. I'm sure most of the people on this team would agree with me!

We drove through a slight rain storm today on the way home but we're home now and it is not raining. The rain did cool the temps a little which is nice.

July weather was in the low 70's with morning overcast and cooler in the evening. August has heated up a little, today is about 79 but that wonderful cool breeze continues. In my opinion September is our hottest month. Always once the kids go back to school. A lot of the older schools don't have air conditioning. We don't either.

Hi Ann

We bought our first MH after 9/11. We have done a lot of traveling outside our country and DH decided it was time to tour the good ole USA. I wasn't sure about the traveling as I'm the kind of person that likes to get on a plane and get to my destination quickly! But we headed out in a used '92 Winnebago with no slides. After our first summer we both were in love with the RV lifestyle. Since then we have retired and moved up to our current 38 ft MH. Once you talk with people it seems you either love or hate it. The people that hate it don't continue so most of the people you meet love the lifestyle.

It has been so hot over most of the country this summer. How is the San Diego area?

My name is Ann and my DH and I live in San Diego. Years ago a former employee of my DH had their 5th wheel and truck for sale after her DH passed away. We bought it and parked it. Both of us were bankers and it was difficult to get away for a week end. A year later I took an early retirement when my job went to L A. DH decided it was time he quit work from his 3rd career. His first was the U.S. Navy. The seller had put us in contact with the local Holiday Rambler camping club so we gave them a try one week end and joined their group. After a trip to Texas in the small 5th wheel we came home and traded for a new 29 ft 5th wheel with a slide out. The slide outs were just coming out. The old truck wouldn't make it up the hills so we had to buy a new truck.

On a cross country trip we were in Fl. and DH broke a latch on one of the awnings. We took a trip to a trailer shop for a replacement and at 4:45 pm. when everything is closing up, I spotted this motor home. The first thing I said when I saw the inside was I could live with these colors. The second thing was that it didn't have an ice maker, so I was a happy camper. DH was very leary of a diesel too. Now 70,000 miles later he loves it too.

Our camping season is October through May. We have traveled in the summer but this summer we decided to stay home where the weather is cooler.

Trish,

I finally made a list on the computer of everything I needed to put in the RV before we took off, even for a short trip, and print it as needed. The list has shrunk considerably, but I still use it as a check-off list. After six years we have doubles of kitchen stuff, towels, & bedding. We also made up first aid and office supply kits to keep in the RV. We each keep some basic clothing there too, and things like shampoo and soap. A couple of years ago I bought a hair dryer just for the RV and a crockpot. We added things gradually as we found we needed them. We're not full-time RVers but go on lots of short trips and 1-2 long ones a year. Now that we're both retired, I'm hoping to travel more.
Enjoy your trip emoticon

I'm glad it was a relatively quick and cheap fix! Now on to the fun part.

As for packing, everyone is different. I keep duplicates of most everything in my MH including clothes! When we leave home, I just pack up my meds, lap top and the things in our frig at home that would spoil. And I'm ready to go! The less work involved, the more enjoyable the experience - that's my motto and I'm sticking to it, lol.

When you're just starting out it's not quite that simple. The first couple trips out, make a list of the appliances and things you use on a daily basis. For example, we use a toaster almost every day so we purchased a toaster. So on and so forth, buy a little at a time.

Definitely purchase duplicates on everyday items like toothpaste, shampoo, shaving needs, etc.

We try to keep weight in mind also. In fact, our kids bought us a beautiful set of dishes for our MH. We use them and wouldn't want to hurt their feelings but they are not something I would have purchased. I would rather have a set of melmac or corelle that is much lighter.

You'll find that you will have doubles of some things as it is just easier to keep some things in the RV. Other things you will probably move back and forth, lol. You'll get a sense of what you need the most after a few trips.

Thanks for the welcomes! The screws (3!) are removed and the tire is fixed, all for $21 and change too. I guess we are going tomorrow now instead of today, so I have a little more time to get things packed up. I do have one question though, do you have "double" of everything or do you move things back and forth from your household articles? I've been doing both and it's making me crazy!

Welcome Again, Trish!
When my hubby announced he wanted to travel the USA in our retirement in a motor home, I was not impressed to say the least. BUT, he got his way and we purchased our first MH. From our first summer, I have become attached to the RV lifestyle. We have since retired and do alot of traveling in the summer. We live in MI and spend our winters in AZ. Where we are the rest of the time is anyone's guess. Right now we are up in Sault Ste Marie, MI at the Soo Locks Campground for a week.

It's a lot of learning in the beginning but we will help with any specific questions and you will learn loads just by reading our posts and chatting with us.

I hope you get the screw issue resolved and can be on your way. Have fun!

Trish, Welcome. We will be glad to help in anyway we can. We are a very chatty bunch. We have everything from just want to be in the RV to full timers, so we have answers to just about any question you may have. If we don't I bet we can find it.
Come and join us on the Tell us about you day thread, that is where most of the chatting goes on. We also have an accountability thread that we use to keep us on track.
I look forward to getting to know you on here. I hope you have a good trip.

Hi everyone!
emoticon

I joined this team in self defense, lol! My husband bought a new RV, after making a lowball offer on one last winter. The dealer accepted his offer and we became the owners of a new RV. We are both a couple of years away from retirement, but dh thinks we will use the RV on weekends and on our vacation times.

We have a 2011 Fleetwood Tioga, 31 or 32 feet, I forget lol. I'd never been camping in my life until this past Memorial Day weekend. My husband grew up camping in a pop up, so knows what it's like. I had no clue. Still don't :)

We were supposed to be leaving this morning for a short trip to WV, but as he was getting things ready yesterday, found a screw in one of the tires. He's out right now trying to get it fixed.

I joined the team mainly to get some tips and ideas on just about everything! I'm a true newbie to camping! Looking forward to meeting and learning from all you veterans, thanks!

Welcome again! I think you will enjoy this team and fit right in. We have several retired members that are exploring the RV lifestyle. We all struggle with learning healthy eating habits while on the road. We all have a tendency to have the feeling of being on vacation, therefore eating whatever we want. We have to learn that it's also a way of life and this team has lots of advice and suggestions.

What a great idea for a team! My name is Marianne and I'm recently retired from teaching high school history and government. My husband is also a retired history teacher, and we love to take our 24 foot Winnebago View exploring California, Oregon and Washington, so far. Now that I'm retired, we are hoping to expand our journeys, and perhaps get a bigger RV. One of my concerns is healthy eating when we're traveling because it is so easy to eat out rather than cook. I even stock the RV with healthy food and still sucumb to convenience sometimes!

I'm Jacque and we have a 27ft. 5th wheel. We lived in it full time up until Sept of last year. We live in southern Louisiana. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Kristi and Welcome to our group of chatty people who love our RV's. I see from your profile that you are from OR. My hubby and I are retired and our home is in MI. We have enjoyed being Snowbirds in AZ the last three years and will be going again this year. Right now we are camping with my daughter and her family at a local campground. We have a 38ft MH and love traveling and the whole RV lifestyle. Most of us on this team have pics of our RV's in our photo galleries so you can check it out and might I suggest you do the same as we are all proud of our RV's.
