Here is a great website with helpful information. It is mostly a medical based site but It does include some things about animal cruelty that you may want to avoid if it is hard for you to hear. I myself must avoid that stuff because of my gentle heart. (I do like that my diet is helpful to animals but i cannot watch or see the photos....) I am leading you to the part of the site about nutrition because it was helpful to me to learn about how a plant based diet would help my life. Here is the link:
Janae954, If you ever decide to stop eating meat you will be relieved to know that all veggies, beans and grains and even fruit have protein in them too and if you eat a variety of those foods you will never even have to think about protein in your diet. You will naturally get enough in your diet. In fact you could survive and get enough nutrition and protein on a diet consisting of white potatoes alone. (The Irish lived on potatoes for many years.) Spark nutrition tracker is designed with meat eaters in mind and the numbers for protein are high and assume you eat meat. They are much higher than the World Health Organization and US Recommended Daily Allowance for Protein numbers. (I don't know why they chose the numbers that they chose)
I am doing a slow transition toward vegetarianism. So far it is working well. I no longer eat red meats and don't miss them. I do eat roast turkey breast without the skin (3 ounce portions) for protein. Fish maybe once a month. I feel better than ever.
