Hi, my name is Tina. I've been a vegetarian since I was six when I asked my father what the corn dog I was eating was made out of. When I was young I had several slip ups, such as not knowing that soups are often made with meat broths and not being old enough to read the ingredients in the things I was eating. Coming from a family of meat eaters no one was quite sure what to do with me, so for the better part of my childhood I ate peanut butter samwhiches, salads, and pasta. Now that I'm older I enjoy cooking and exploring the different things I can eat, even if I don't enjoy having to make sure I get all the nutrients I need.
Hi. I just rejoined Spark People a couple days ago in order to keep track of my nutritional intake. I was a Vegan from August 2010 until about 3 days ago when I decided to try being a Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian instead. I can't drink milk, but have begun eating greek yogurt and free range, organic eggs (A friend of my daughter's has chickens that have been overproducing so she gives us hers sometimes and I plan to eat those when possible because I know the chickens are treated well). I was feeling so sluggish lately on the Vegan diet and believe I was missing some nutrients. Anyways, I am glad I found this group and hope to get to know you all better.
