Hi, Cathy. I'm an on-again/off-again SP-er, too, back this time to try to connect with other veggies and people who enjoy the same workouts I do.
Sure it's possible to gain weight eating plants, but if you're going the whole food route and not being totally bonkers, it's unlikely. Could it be that you feel more full?

Hi Cathy, I'm a new vegetarian as well. I've seen Forks over Knives on Instant Play on Netflix. I'll have to check it out.
No idea on the weight loss since I'm super new to this.
Welcome! Looking forward to sharing insights in the future.
I have been a vegetarian for almost 2 weeks. I decided to switch to a vegetarian/semi-vegan lifestyle after watching "Forks over Knives" because of a strong family history of cancer :(
So far I don't miss meat at all and have noticed some increased energy. Unfortunately I feel like I'm gaining weight!! Is this normal or am I perhaps doing something wrong?!?
I've been on sparkpeople off and on for years, but am re-committing to it to lose a little extra weight and find some support with my new lifestyle.
I look forward to meeting some of you on the message boards!
