Thanks Mike. I'll be doing the Daniel Fast for the next 3 weeks, God willing. It is pretty much a plant based diet. So that is pretty much Vegan. I don't think I could be a totally vegan. I like to have fish and sometimes chicken once in a while. Thanks for the word of encouragement!

Hi Debbie, there are no rules that say you have to be a full vegan just do what you can do

See, now that's something meaty! I have a recipe for a veggie burger that has those ingredients. I'll check out your link. Thanks! I don't know if I can be a full Vegan right now. But for the next 3 weeks I'm committed to being one. No eggs, dairy, animal meat or fish. I'm looking forward to it.

Sounds like you are well on your way to being a vegan. Congrats! I really enjoy the lifestyle and the food. SOrry I can't help you with "meaty" foods. I don't even think about those kinds of tastes and textures any more. I do make a killer veggie burger that holds up and doesn't fall apart like some do. It is made of mostly black beans, carrots oats and tomatoes. I had just the patty without the bun the other day and I was surprised how much like real meatloaf it felt in my mouth.
Here is the link to the recipe

I am looking forward to hearing some of your favorite recipes too.

Thanks. Yes, I know all foods have protein in them. Was looking for something more meaty and stay along the Vegan lines. I don't eat any unhealthy or fried foods. I don't eat sugar nor white flour. I eat foods the way God made.

All vegetables have protein in them, not just beens seeds and nuts. 100 calories of broccoli has more protein than 100 calories of beef.

So don't worry about tofu, just eat whole food, and eat tons of veggies, fruits, whole grains, beans and other legumes and you will be fine. Just don't be an unhealthy vegan/vegetarian: eg: stay away from the french fries and processed foods.

Hi

I'm new! Having been sensing God leading me to go vegetarian and possible eventually go Vegan. Looking for some protein ideas. Planning on doing full Vegan for the next 3 weeks. I don't like tofu. So what other options besides beans, seeds, nuts?

Looking forward in finding my way around.

Hi everyone.

I've been vegetarian for 17 and 1/2 years. I eat a bit of dairy, eggs and fish, but am predominately vegetarian.

I regularly get cookbooks out of the library but don't own too many. I do like these websites though.

fatfreevegan.com/ I never made a recipe from here that I didn't like.

vegandad.blogspot.com/

and for REALLY simple recipes to get you through those days when you need to throw something together

Hi Everyone,

I have been vegetarian since the beginning of the year, and have been awfully close to vegan for the last month and half. Being lactose intolerant helps. Would love to find out if you have a favorite, simple cookbook that is your 'go-to' book when you are looking for new recipes to try. I prefer mediteranean cuisine, or european/american type flavors. Not too crazy about Indian cuisine, but if it is really good, I might be persuaded to try. Would also like to drop about 10 lbs.
