I agree with all the positive intrinsic feeling.

I also think it's good for your own body, making it create new blood for yourself.

I think donating blood is kind of noble. It's a way of bestowing life on strangers we will never meet or hear of. This is the highest form of giving charity possible, as the recipients never get to meet or hear of us, either.

Wow! Seven gallons! I am impressed. I have been donating for many years, but I do not think that I have given anywhere near that amount. emoticon

I can't agree with you more Yoderific! And with the economy the way it is- what better donation could there be than one that costs you nothing yet still has such an impact!

I think blood donation is perhaps one of the best things you can do to give back to the community. It's cheap and easy. The nurses do all the work. All you have to do is lay there and bleed.
I use to give whole blood about 5 times a year until we got a donation center in town. Now I give platelets about every two weeks. I split my donations between the red cross and the blood center of wisconsin. They make me feel welcome and that I am truly helping an individual. I just finished my 7th gallon. What a great team. All of you are truly special people with huge hearts.
