I think both parks are right near the Exton Mall, even though the addresses are different. That is why I think we were talking about that area: a) somewhat central to everyone and b) if it's too cold, we can go to the mall. I tend to be a whimp to, lol. Maybe we can rotate parks!
I'd totally prefer exton; not that WC is too far but Exton is just a bit easier. Also, if there are folks in the downingtown/coatesville area - East Brandywine Park is also a great park.... if it is super cold though - count me out. I'm a real wimp in cold weather.
I posted this on the other tread, but I wanted to share it with everyone about our walk. Any preferences?
I'm at work right now, but I pulled out a map and saw the name of the park I was thinking of. It's called the Albert C. Miller Memorial Park. It's address is 220 Miller Way, Exton, PA 19380. It's right off of Bus. rt. 30 and rt. 100. The web page is: http://www.keystoneactivezone.org/consumer
According to the West Whiteland webpage, it has 20+ Acres, is township-owned and states that it has "gazebo, comfort facilities, parking, climbing rock, 3 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, 1 volleyball court, tot lot equipment, pavilion and multi-purpose field - Handicapped Accessible."
I didn't even realize that there was a Boot Road Park. It's address is 110 West Boot Road
West Chester, PA 19380. Now, the Boot Road Park is described as "48+ Acres - Township-owned,
The Darlington Tract is a 26 acre parcel located on West Boot Road that the Township purchased in 1998. This tract is complemented by a 22 acre parcel across Boot Road, donated to the Township as part of the residential subdivision known as Whiteland Woods. The two parcels will be combined to create a community park serving West Whiteland including both passive and active recreational opportunities. The Historic Commission and Parks and Recreation Department have their offices located on this property."
I could give directions for the albert miller park.
Let me know what you think!
we were discussing meeting on another board thread meeting the last sunday of every month for a team walk. We were thinking of meeting in exton as a central point for the county, esp. being winter we can always use the mall as a back up. I'm working on directions. (Thanks Danany1231 for your help!)
suggestions? All welcomed!
