A bike trainer (Mine's a Minoura Rim trainer) is the best way to keep in shapoe for riding season--you'll still be riding your outdoor bike after all, just riding it indoors. It's a little boring, so mix in whatever other cardio and strength training you want, but just keep getting on that bike! YOu'll be amazed.

Hello and welcome to the team! It'll start getting cold here (Boston) soon, too, so I'm starting to see more people in the gym in the morning. For cycling work, I've started spinning and last winter I used my CycleOps bike trainer. Of course I mix it up a lot so every week includes multiple forms of weights and cardio.

2L: I'm sure you can make it. Doing a 1/2 marathon can be done by just about anybody. If you keep working at it then you can make it. I'm about a few runs away from getting started training. I also have to keep training for a century ride. Good luck with your goals.

thanks Gail and good luck with your marathon. Boy I sure couldn't do one. Running has never been my thing and my knees won't take that now.

I'm looking forward to hearing how you are doing...

Hello and welcome to the cycling group. You have painted a pretty picture of that trail ride. I have not trails to ride where I live but at the present time they are fixing up the old abandon rail roads. All I have right now is a road bike but once these trails are fixed I may look into getting one.

I haven't done a lot of cycling over the past few weeks. I have come love cycling but right now I am in training for a 1/2 marathon and I am don't seem to be fit enough to do both. SO come October I hope to start up again.

Hi, I知 new here. I知 46, wife and mother to two grown boys. One is at home finishing up his last semester of college. We live in Wisconsin, have a house full of animals and our first granddaughter that I love to pieces.

We had a nice vacation up to Cable WI and saw the Chequamegon fat tire bike races. It was SO much fun and exciting! It rained most of the time we were there and so we only got one bike ride in but it was enough for me to want to do it again. I知 far from races but want to bike for fun now.

We hit the trail one morning and it was so beautiful to be out in the woods riding along, breeze on the face, trees beginning to turngravel under my tires to scare me to deathjust marvelous fun, lol.

I look forward to this group and learning what I can. The snow will set in here soon so maybe someone has some ideas for me to keep getting fit for next year?
