I have the full suspension stumpy and it is soooo sweet and very fast and agile for a mtn bike. There's a pic of me on it on my profile page.

Charityak,

Welcome to the team. I also ride a road bike and a much beloved pair of Specialized Stumpjumpers! I have a hardtail stumpy and a full-suspension stumpy. Both bikes are crazy fast.

Thanks, Bruce

Welcome, also from Alaska! I'm more of a runner and aspiring cyclist, but I couldn't resist greeting a fellow Alaskan. I live and run in Southeast. We're so lucky to live in such an incredible place!

Welcome to our SparkTeam of fellow CyclePaths...! :-)

You sound as badly "bitten" by the bike bug as I am! Also came to it in my 50s as well. Definitely a "roadie" despite riding a Specialized Tricross...a cyclocross bike that I regard as my "do anything" bike...commuting, club rides, touring...you name it!

I have a sister in the Anchorage area...perhaps one of these years I'll get up that way...probably have to retire first...lol!

Looking forward to having you share your stories and accomplishments!

Late blooming biker here at 54 years old. Discovered biking about six years ago when I did a sprint triathlon for the first time. The running and swimming were..meh, but I was totally hooked by the biking. Went on to bike the Denali Highway in the Alaskan interior the next year. And bike about 1 to 2,000 miles a year since. I use a trainer during the Alaskan winters but am looking into a fat bike so I can ride year round.

I love both distance cycling with my road bike and mountain biking with my much loved specialized stumpjumper. The mtn biking in Alaska is incredible.

Most recent events this summer were mtn biking in Sedona's Red Rock park, my first century ride in May and the Tour de Cure 100K a couple of weeks ago.
