Thanks for your comments. I'm happy you folks have discovered cycling. I always had a bicycle as a kid, and I loved cruising around our neighborhood, but I stopped bicycling as soon as I learned to drive...and it's been downhill (no pun intended) ever since! I didn't realize how much I missed it, and I am so excited to spend more time this year getting to know my bicycle and pushing my boundaries. When I first heard people talk about 20-mile rides, I was very intimidated...let's just say I'm out of shape. But when I actually tried it, I was surprised to find that it wasn't that difficult. I mean, it WAS hard, but I didn't think I could do it AT ALL! It's good to know that pushing THAT boundary might help with weight loss.
Hey Garrie, My wife & I started riding a couple of years ago too. Love Love Love group rides! The group rides push me to ride faster & longer, both of which result in more weight loss. For me, anything up to 20 miles or so seems to result in minimum weight loss. But everything over 20 miles seems to make a huge difference. Enjoy!!
Have a GREAT Day!
Never, Never, Never Give Up!!!

Hi! My name is Garrie. I'm from Utah. I was inspired to begin cycling a couple years ago after helping my niece organize a women's bike event. I love cycling, and I love listening to others talk about it. I have so much to learn, and I'll humbly listen to others share their stories, tips, successes, and mishaps.
