Hi, My name is Lynnette. I live in Texas - Yeehaw! I am doing the Houston MS 150 with my 11 year old son in April. He has to ride a tandem bike so I have to train too! Hopefully this will help me get rid of the last 15 pounds. I read some really great advice. My son and I did 4.63 miles in 33 minutes and we will work up to getting in a 1 hour ride. That is where we are right now.

Welcome to the team. I love my bike and ride every chance I get. DH and I usually ride a tandem (road and mountain), but we do each have singles also (road and mountain). Our garage looks like a bike shop most days.
Keep up your riding and try to increase your distance every couple of days, you will make it.
One Day at a Time: 1) 10,000 steps daily 2) fruit & vegie at every meal and log 3) aerobic or strength train every day 4) 7 hours sleep daily 5) check in with SP daily
August 2014 goals: 1) Get my nutrition back under control and record daily 2) Finish the forest service quilt and wall hanging 3) Ride my bike 25 miles a week 4) Clean and de-clutter one room each week
Hey Team! I am new to your team and relatively new to cycling (couple months). I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years, and recently introduced Cycling into my daily workout routine and have really come to enjoy it! I wanted to add something else to the mix rather than the gym, trainer, and other activities I have to continue my weight loss and healthy life routine! I have lost right just over 170 pounds in the past 1.5 years, and am hoping cycling will help me get off another 30! I recently picked up a new Specialized CrossTrail Elite and ride it every day (weather permitting). I have added some accessories like clip-in pedals and shoes (what a world of difference they make) and a few other minor items. I try to ride at 10+ miles every week day and at least 15-20 on the weekends with a day off here or there to rest. I find it a quick and easy way to get my cardio in and burn some calories!!! I am trying to prepare for 2 upcoming charity rides, a 40 mile, and a 60 mile one in October. Hopefully I will be ready!
