Welcome Jim. I've been mountain biking for about a year. I too carry more around, and would just like to get it off, to go faster (especially up hills). I stayed fairly close to the group on my first night ride, last night. It was a fun ride and I'd do those 11 miles or more again! I like both, mountain and road biking.
My name is Jim and I recently found SparkPeople. I ride a mountain bike(first choice) and a road bike as often as I can...probably 100-125 mi per week, so this team seemed like a natural fit. Carrying about 22 more pounds around the woods trails than I should be. Usually end up in the back of the pack in the few races that I enter each year(15th out of 18 in my class GM 50+ last year in one of the FL State Championship series races). I am hoping that weight loss coupled with some strength training will help me to either finish higher in the standings or be less beat up or both! Hoping to add something to the team as well as receive.
