I signed up here on Jan 3 and setup a profile on the Start Page. Since then I have learned a metric TON of valuable information on fitness and nutrition and trained myself to eat much better than I did before ( without starving myself or ignoring my favorite foods )
Since then I have lost 35 pounds out of a goal of 50- which I may revisit to lose a bit more once I hit the goal weight. The trackers have been highly functional in helping to meet that goal as they keep me much more aware of what I am really eating cumulatively throughout the day.
The site has an incredibly powerful 3 things working in all of our favor- The trackers, the information and the COMMUNITY.
I've never lost 5 pounds or more and kept it off before. I have lost plenty and had each pound happily return with a few friends, but Spark People is different.
I think even my breathing has improved- because that was one long winded reply. Good luck on your SP journey and keep both wheels on the ground ;)
