Thanks for the welcome DavisJH. DH and I also do road rides on the tandem. He rides a single road bike, I don't much. Our little club is planning another Metric Century in April, you should come try it out. We had several from Montgomery last year. Here is a link to the club's web page:

1) 10,000 steps daily
2) fruit & vegie at every meal
3) aerobic or strength train every day
4) 7 hours sleep daily
5) check in with SP daily

___Mar 2014 goals:
1) lose 4 pounds
2) ride 200 miles
3) clean/organize one room and closet weekly
4) complete 1 UFO

Welcome. I'm also cycling in Central Alabama - Montgomery. Road cycle rather than mountain bike.

2009 Cycling Goal: 2,750 miles (3,500 miles 8/15)
Year to 10/2: 3,255 miles
Previous Goals/Miles:
2008 2,500 mi/2,419.1 logged (80.9 miles short)
2007 (1/2 Year): 1,000 mi/ 1,002 logged!!

Thanks for the welcome. Dodgegm, you need to come ride our new trail, it is really nice.

Sara! Kathy told me you had a new mountain bike. I have only ridden mine around the farm, gotta get just a tad warmer before I hit the woods with it. We have ridden it on the tandem though.

I heard you have been babysitting alot these days. Give me a call.

Oh, look who is on Sparky pages, Beverly! Now, we can keep up. Yes, I did the short loop of the trail at the beginning, a few weeks ago on the mountain bike. I love it, need to work up some muscles. Let's do it together (when we don't have little ones). You gotta love this forum for the cycling tidbits.

Hello everyone. I am glad I found you all here. DH has brought me kicking and screaming into the cycling world. We have a garage full of failed attempts over the past 12 years, but now we ride have a road tandem as well as a mountain tandem, and I am hooked. He rides singles when I am not around and bought me a single mountain bike last week. Our town has just completed an 11 mile mountain bike trail in the national forest and it connects to other pre-existing trails, so there are lots of places for me to ride. I look forward to lots of help from everyone.
