Christopher, I found this team when I was checking out your page. I am still in the beginning phases of riding. 5-7 miles 5 days a week, with my two smallest boys. I was soooo happy when my hubby got me that bike last year! I hadn't been on anything other than a stationary bike in ages. Except the one time I tried to ride my teen sons mongoose. That was quite attractive, let me tell you. My knees came up to my chin. hehehe. Jim, I went and checked out the bike adventure you spoke of. Unfortunately, that time of year is very busy for me. Thank you very much for the information. I hope everybody has a great weekend...
Andrea!!!! Welcome to the Team! I was surprised to see your name when I was Huddling this morning! This is a fantastic group of people that love to ride! As for the seat . . . Yeah . . takes a little getting use to!
"The principle is competing against yourself. It's about self-improvement, about being better than you were the day before . . So you must respect your 'opponent' as a worthy adervsary!" Happy-Destiny
It's great that you take your kids with you! My two yougest ones are a little older (12 & 14) than yours, but they ride bikes with me too. We have so much fun on our rides and I'm so glad that they are learning to have fun while they exercise.
Welcome to the team, Andrea glad to have you pedaling with us!
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Pain is just weakness leaving the body! By his stripes we are healed. Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar in pieces with your bare hands--and then just eat one of the pieces. Current mileage to go on my 10th 1,000 Challenge is 193.72 miles. Current mileage to go on my 3rd 2,700 mile coast to coast bike challenge is 2,533.90 miles. NEVER STOP PEDALING
Hi Andrea, Welcome to the group. I ride with my kids too ages 7 & 9, they listen really well to mommy and stop at every stop sign but I'm still nervous at times when we cross the road. Some drives are so rude. I know what you mean about the seat, I recently changed my rock hard seat to a comfy padded one that even has springs under the seat to absorb the bumps and it's made for a women, extra padding in the front. It made my rides so much more enjoyable. I have family in Windsor Ontario and when I was in my teens we use to cross the boarder and go shopping, that was so much fun. Happy cycling.
Hi there. My name is Andrea. I am married to a great guy & I have 5 children. My best Spark friend is "Happy Destiny." 5 days a week I ride my bicycle around town. I have the 3 yr. old in his seat, and keep my 7 yr. old directly in front of me. My 3 teens join us occasionally, seeming as they are much too busy for riding with mom. hehehe... I have always loved riding bikes. I don't care if it is stationary or mobile. The only problem I have with it, is, the seats aren't cushy enough. I swear I feel like strapping a big ole pillow to it. Nice meeting all of you & good luck on your goals to a happy healthier you!
