Welcome to the site. The Wisconsin winters are not quite as bad as yours but i hope and plan on doing spinning classes and weight lifting in the off season.

Please say hi to Santa and Rudolph for me as well

Jim

I understand not riding in the winter! That can be a real challenge up here (I'm in Anchorage) considering the dark and awful drivers. I'm not yet brave enough (or is it foolish enough) to ride in winter.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

I've been to your area, but only in the prime summer months! But if you can ride that long of a season, maybe that will motivate me to stay out there longer this season.

Welcome to the team...

Riding season starts mid to late May, When there is still snow on the ground and the lake is still mostly frozen but the temp isn't frigid! I didn't start that early this year because my bike needed some work before I could ride it and it took a while to get it ridable again. ANd I can usually keep riding until October

Keep 'Em Spinnin'!

How long is your riding season there? I don't blame you for not wanting to ride in the dark winter. Brrrr!

Keep it up!!

Welcome Moe! I live in Colorado- not quite as cold as you, but we still have a lot of -20 and -30 nights...so I only bike commute from around Easter to Thanksgiving-ish. At the beginning and end of the season I wear my ice climbing gloves to keep my fingers warm! I also have a bike trainer that I ride inside during the winter, and sometimes sneak out at noon when it is warmer if we don't have too much snow.

North Pole is beautiful- I was at UAF for a summer over a decade ago and remember the area fondly. Glad you could join us here and best of luck with your ridng and weight loss goals!

Hi everyone! I'm Moe and I live in North Pole Alaska. I love bike riding and I just ride for recreation and exercise. Today was the first time I went riding this summer! Last summer, I started riding before any of the ice melted off the lake! Boy I have mssed it! I had a great ride on both paved and dirt paths. My plan is to get in a LOT more biking to make up for lost time!

I don't do winter biking because of cold dark etc.... I did read an article about a man who rides to work on his bike EVERYday. I don't know if I would want to face that cold!

I'm looking forward to exploring more!

Keep 'Em Spinnin'!

Moe
