Tabalf, Welcome to the team. At my house, it's just the opposite. My husband is just starting to ride with me. He has lost weight and is riding much stronger than last year. Keep going! There are lots of great suggestions on this site. And feel free to ask any question. Cindy

TABALF Good for you, getting out riding with your husband! Both my husband and I ride but I ride more than my husband. I speak to many husbands, out on group ride, who wish their wives would ride with them. I think we wives can get intimidated and embossed buy how mush slower we ride than our husbands.
BTW: you can be a better cycling partner without losing weight! Last year I hired a cycling coach who taught me techniques to become a faster, stronger rider. Now, since I have also lost weight, I am getting a little faster. I know that everyone can’t afford a cycling coach but, if there is university nearby where you live they may have a cycling coach or talk to the leaders of the local cycling clubs for recommendations for people who can coach you.
