Wow welcome to the team. There are lots of new members on this team I can't keep up with them all. I am sure you will enjoy this team. I hope that TX does well for you. One of these days I might move down there for a little while.
I joined spark almost 2 months ago. I have been wanting to get in shape for a while, but it wasn't until I found this wonderful resource that I really got serious. Tracking everything I eat is the perfect way to get the correct nutrition in the correct amount.
I hadn't been on a bike in about 18 years since my late 80's Stump Jumper was stolen. I needed to add a healthy dose of exercise into my life, but cardio in a gym is not something I can stick to. I talked my wife into buying some mountain bikes about a month ago. I got a base model Rockhopper and she got the similarly equipped Myka. She has never ridden on anything but pavement until last weekend, so I have been trying to encourage her. I am up to about 45 minutes on the roads around our house twice a week and 1:30 ride on the weekend. We have now found a group to ride trails with on Wed. and Sun. nights. Hopefully we can get in a couple nice long rides a week that way and one of the guys in the group who has a lot of experience helping newbies learn can increase my DW's confidence and comfort with her bike on our rocky and rooty trails.
Anyhow, sorry for being so long winded. I am very happy to have found Spark and this group.
