I like to plan several projects for the day - and if I don't get to all of them, I tell myself the day isn't over until I finish at least one more. And I can't eat while I'm working on something, especially if it's at the computer. There is simply no room on the computer desk for food or beverage - and I'd be scared I'd drop something, also.
Any projects not requiring the computer usually require my hands, which makes eating not possible.

I find my nighttime eating is due to boredom-so I try to stay busy-either reading or Sparking-if my hands are holding a book or typing, they aren't feeding my face-I really don't like to get my keyboard or books dirty!!!
If the nighttime eating is a problem. Check that you are taking in enough calories during the day. Meal planning is a great deal of help. Have a glass of water before you eat/snack. Try journaling your thoughts and feelings to make sure it is a food need not an emotional desire. Wishing you the best. Let us know how it is going for you.
No foods with high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.
No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.
If an item has more than 10 ingredients it is too processed, I will not eat or buy the item.

The best way to stop the night time eating is to drink water. You can also eat fruit. I usually will cut up fruit and have it ready to eat. If you have a hard time drinking water add a slice of lime or lemon on the bottom of the glass and muddle it then add ice and water. Now, you have lemonade.
